LSU is a better program now.

All I'm saying. We've finished the season ranked higher every year since 2012. And we're building better facilities.

LSU gymnastics has a bright future. I wouldn't trade programs with any school right now.

The Advocate is in the business of selling papers and, no matter how highly they're ranked(gymnastics), opening series for baseball is going to take precedence over gymnastics. Let's not forget our baseball team is pretty highly ranked also. It's just good business practice, they know their readers and know what they want to read about. I saw a poster mention the Gumps gymnastics squad somewhere in this thread, and I guarantee their mediocre baseball squad took precedence over gymnastics this weekend.

ETA: Don't hate on the baseball countdown thread. It's a very informative thread breaking down all returning and incoming players, and gives a great preview for the upcoming season. It's also a nice place to escape to for all the posters who love LSU baseball to try and avoid the meltdown that's happened the last few years after we've lost to Bama(countdown thread starts that weekend).

Never said they should be mutually exclusive, only that gymnastics deserved better coverage than page 9. Baseball has certainly earned its right to receive premier coverage, but at this point in time gymnastics should have been more prominently featured this Saturday.

I understand, just tired of the countless posts about inane aspects of the baseball program like walkup songs, visitors showers, batting gloves, where to watch the game in BFE, will I be able to buy tix at the stadium, etc.

The visitors showers thread was very creepy, I'm with you on that one.

The walk up song thread is a sarcastic thing we talk about because our local media guys publish "articles" about it. Articles being in quotations because it's crap journalism(and I'm friends with one of our Advocate beat writers for football and baseball).

And the where to watch thread was stickied, because there was a thread for damn near every game last year asking how to watch, and we weren't spoiled with the SECn before this year, so they went ahead and tried to eliminate that for this season.

As for the buying tickets outside of the stadium, that happens just as much, if not more, for football and basketball, and people should know by now that 99% of the time you can find tickets outside of the stadium, you're just more than likely gonna pay more than face value a good bit of the time.

Now, the batting gloves thing Youre just over exaggerating about your current disdain for the surplus of baseball coverage right now.

First you're pissed off at the Advocate because it's not ran the way you think it should be, now you are tired of TD.Com because people are posting "inane" threads?

I think I understand the problem now.

And tigersofgesuld you sound very ignorant. Basically all vandy has to do in baseball is finish ranked higher than us again and they will have better baseball PROGRAM. That's not what a program is. Just stop arguining cuz you will never get the point

I agree. The Men's Gymnastics Team deserves much more notoriety.

That baseball team generates revenue. Without the support, things like a new gymnastic facility, wouldn't be possible.

Here is a thought. Why don't you take the time out of your day and post more about the gymnastics program to help inform people. Just like other posters do for all the other sports programs at LSU.

It seems the Advocate has fallen prey to the almost cult like following of this baseball program. Don't get me wrong, I support any team in any sport wearing the purple and gold and representing LSU. But it gets a bit ridiculous to see the 128 days until baseball countdown, and the continuous commentary about WALK UP SONGS!!! And lets not forget the inane commentary about visitors showers, the batting gloves, 20 posts about what channel the game can be viewed on, and the endless Fire Javi comments.
