You might get less negative comments by sticking to your point about the Advocate and it's coverage of gymnastics w/o adding in the jabs against the baseball posts on TD.
If I remember correctly, Tiger Rant is a message board and any member can start a thread (within certain limitations of deletion, anchoring or banning). You make fun of the baseball posts there is a simple answer...don't open them. If you want to create a series of posts about gymnastics, go for it. You'll get some supportive comments and your fair share of idiots. As to the Advocate, direct your anger at them, you'll get a better audience.

It seems the Advocate has fallen prey to the almost cult like following of this baseball program. Don't get me wrong, I support any team in any sport wearing the purple and gold and representing LSU. But it gets a bit ridiculous to see the 128 days until baseball countdown, and the continuous commentary about WALK UP SONGS!!! And lets not forget the inane commentary about visitors showers, the batting gloves, 20 posts about what channel the game can be viewed on, and the endless Fire Javi comments.

Gymnastics is almost over. It was opening weekend for baseball.
Plus, they were away this past weekend. Florida is this coming weekend and it's a huge meet. They'll surely provide more coverage.
If it bothers you that much, write the sports department a letter. Or the editor. Or John Georges.

Show me the papers from Georgia (an actual perennial national powerhouse in gymnastics) mentioning their team's away meet that is prior to page.
LSU has a better gymnastics program than UGA. We were better last year, and we're better this year as well. We'll have better facilities...a new gymnastic practice facility and nutrition center are being constructed as we speak and will be finished soon. We'll have better facilities for gymnastics than any of the traditional powers, in fact. Whether they're in the conference or around the country.
Have you seen the video? The girls are getting a roof top lounge area with a grill and big screen TV. That's in addition to having a first class training area.
In short, the program is one of the best in the country, and it has all the makings of staying one of the best.

LSU has a better gymnastics program than UGA
UGA : 10 national titles and 16 SEC titles
Lsu : 1 SEC title

Every part of what I wrote is true. Every word, every sentence. Right now, LSU is better than UGA.
STTDB.

Georgia has the history.
10 national champs including 5 in a row in the mid 00's.
So you are taking what I said, and what I meant, and applying it incorrectly.
If this other university, that has 10 titles, can't get past some arbitrary, mystical, magical page number that determines relevancy of a regional news paper, then why should it matter that LSU is ONLY on page 9?
LSU has been better the last two years, sure, but the program hasn't been better prior to that.

All that needs to be said. You can stop right there.
And I can rest my case.

Then I can apply your logic to any team that has a better history, but wasn't quite as good the last two years.
Vanderbilt has a better baseball program than LSU
Your logic+current teams=stupid comment

I agree with the OP! Serious talented athletes and I could care less about gender or sport, its LSU! These girls deserve more recognition!
Posted on 2/15/15 at 9:34 pm to StTiger
Vandy is the defending national champions, so yeah. Does it surprise you that I agree with that statement?
Just curious, is there a certain number of years that LSU gymnastics needs to be better than UGA before you'll admit they are better? Because I strongly suspect we'll be better than UGA next year as well.
Just an FYI.

Better current team does not equal better program. Program is an overall group over a long period of time
And no, I'm not surprised. Pretty sure your comments are just you trolling

You mean like you agreeing with what I wrote...

...then telling me it's a stupid statement? That kind of trolling?

Never agreed with you because I never said LSU was the better program (see earlier definition of program)
Posted on 2/15/15 at 9:52 pm to StTiger
Sorry, you can't have it both ways. If you admit what I wrote was correct, which you did, then LSU does indeed have the better program.
We have the better coach...I wouldn't be shocked to see UGA's coach get fired after the season. We have the better athletes...the rankings and the performances speak for themselves. And we're building the better facilities. Win, win, win. QED.
I'll ask you again, what is the timeframe for success that LSU needs to maintain in order to be better? Because obviously it's not the last two years, or even next year.
And that's just flat-out ridiculous. Either we are better or we aren't. And we are better. We proved it last year, we're proving it this year, and we're proving that the school is willing to support the team by building them the very best facilities of their kind, anywhere.
So stop the PC BS and wake up and smell the coffee. It's ok to come in out of the rain.

your logic is incredibly flawed
probably wasting my time with someone who just wants to be right on a meaningless internet forum, but in no way is LSUs "program" better than UGAs.
Maybe a better team, not program

Houston, we have a problem. It's not "team" it's "teams".
Again, LSU was better last year, we're better this year, and it's almost certain that we'll be better next year.
Edit: LSU has finished the season ranked higher than UGA every year since 2012.
Add in the fact of better facilities, and that is the textbook definition of "program".

Yeah, you are just trying to make it sound like you won.
But if that's what you need, then by all means.
You are just trying to argue one point using the wrong words. You are making the measurement of the overall value of a program all about one or two years out of 30+ years worth of competition. Cool, bro.
Peace out. It's my bed time.

LSU is a better program now. UGA obviously has better history but they haven't been the same since Yoculan retired.
