Thats why you said over 100 meteors impact the Earth every year

They impact the earth's atmosphere which is a part of the earth. Maybe if you were better at comprehension you would have stated that they don't impact the earth's surface.

It's like shooting fish in a bucket. Yes, a bucket is smaller than a barrel.

maybe you missed where an impact makes it a meteorite....double lulz #fullofwin

Momma's wrong again. Meteors are the visible phenomenon of meteorOIDs. Meteorites are meteorOIDS that strike the earth. All meteorites are meteoroids. All meteoroids have meteors.

Again, faulty logic, boss.

I see we do need to go over definitions...

quote:

Noun: The action of one object coming forcibly into contact with another: "cause injury on impact".
Verb: Come into forcible contact with another object.

Meteors travel through the atmosphere, there is no "impact" when you travel through something...

but thanks for playing.

the definition of a meteor and a meteorite is not an opinion.

You really have trouble with definitional application, don't you?

True, the problem is that your definition is wrong.

Does LSU have 'athlete/football friendly teachers' like other schools?

I would think that there would be enough of them out there to avoid something like a player being not able to participate in bowl games. I don't recall in the past players having problems.

Sure, you also have serious professors and instructors from liberal arts colleges that detest the football program and would jump at an opportunity to show academic impropriety. It's not the 70s anymore. You can't just alter a grade and call it a day. People will blow the whistle.

Wrong yet again, sucka. The atmosphere is made up of molecules. When the meteorOID enters atmosphere, it begins impacting large numbers of molecules. These impacts effectively convert the kinetic energy of the meteoroid into thermal energy, thus burning the composition of the meteoroid, which creates a burning trail known as a meteor.

As he is correct in stating that Earth includes the atmosphere as well as oceans, the core, and terra firma, EVERY meteor strikes Earth. There are tens of thousands of atmospheric impacts every single day. I I know it's hard to be wrong, but you are summarily wrong in this argument. Give it up, or I'll just keep poking holes in it.

I recommend getting back to whatever flimsy root there is in your argument, because your tangents only hurt your case.
