A quck moment to salute LSU great Tyson Jackson

I hear a lot of pro football talking heads bang on Tyson for his lack of production as a pro and not living up to expectations. Today they briefly mentioned his mediocrity on the BS Report.
Those criticisms are not entirely undeserved. However, I just looked at his career earnings and it looks like when you combine his Kansas City and new Atlanta contract, Tyson has gotten $40mm in guaranteed compensation.
That ain't bad for a kid for Edgard, LA. To you Mr. Jackson
Keep shaking those haters off ... because you're rich.

I think his Karate chop against Kentucky changed the trajectory of his popularity with LSU fans. They still like him, but I think we'd remember him much more fondly if he had controlled himself in that game.

People really recall petty shite like that in a football game years ago? they need to get life in that case

The suits that decided to draft him #3 overall deserve more criticism than Tyson Jackson does IMO. Props to TJ for working hard and getting paid.

Wasn't it against Kentucky, not Arkansas?

That's right. Someone kicked a ball against Arkansas or something. Probably Rahim Alem.

it was the the kentucky game in 2007, may have been either 2nd or 3rd down, but that boneheaded karate chop to andre woodson's head was pretty stupid.
when it's shite that stupid, you tend to remember it.

I remember the karate chap, and it was stupid, sure. But it's not like he's a black belt and jeopardized Woodon's life

Oh please GTFO with this BS. Tyson Jackson was part of a championship team. What more do you want?

Al Woods' brother?

He's been one of the best run stuffers in the league since he got there. He was over drafted but "lack of production" is a lazy way to put it

It was definitely a DE. Probably Trindon.

Unfortunately, I tend to remember one of Tyson's gaffes above basically everything positive he did at LSU. It was the 07 Bama game, and we were up 17-3. He had an egregiously late hit on JPW on a 3rd and long that extended their drive. Next play, long TD pass to DJ Hall that gave Bama the momentum. Obviously we won the game, so no harm no foul, but I'll always remember him for that play.
3:30 mark
The highlight of his LSU career is the forced fumble in the BCSCG. He had a really nice run from 07-08. Glad he made some stacks in the league though. He was definitely a reach at #3 overall, but I'm always glad to see an LSU boy getting paid.

sorry, dude, but i always remember things like this. im a passionate fan. i remember these as i do huge plays, because well, they are. not bashing on tyson, but there are some really dumb plays that change momentum and course of games. i'll remember this as infamously as i remember jamie howard vs auburn, rahim alem's attempt at being "angry morten anderson", Vadal's 1st and goal leg pull, ron lewis' missed 25 yd fg against bama, etc. for people that follow lsu, these are our "bill buckner" moments.

It was 1st and 15 from the LSU 30 in the first OT when that happened.
It was stupid but that's not what cost us the game.
Running for 4 consecutive plays at the end of the 3rd OT did. 4th and 2 against a stacked line and we only got 1.
LSU was the National Champs that year anyways.

His potential earned him more than his actual performance. Kudos to him for getting paid regardless. Forever LSU$$$
