you obviously dont understand my argument. The main reason LSU has had a great academic run over the last 20 years,is because of the money, interest generated from football. if you dont agree with that you are wrong.

i never said i was against LSU advancing in the academic world, but success in athletics correlates to success in academics and it is not a coincidence.

Emmerets

Dude it's Emmert, and yes I remember his tenure here. Weirdly enough, a Strategic Plan is something that is done somewhat regularly to update the goals of the University. And, weirdly enough, when Mark Emmert was Chancellor they did the same thing, calling it the Flagship Agenda.

Here's a very similar letter that could have easily been attributed to him, that came out during his time here. Notice a distinct lack of language dealing with Athletics. It also uses the word Culture! Oh my!

Again, the arguments you guys are making are dumb because you don't even know what you are arguing for.

So basically he is telling everyone F you, and he doesnt care about athletics, you know the economic engine of this university.

He sent an email about the launch of the strategic plan and you’re pissed?

Two weeks ago this board was bitching about the endowment and lack of information and focus from the academic side.

If F. King pulls off what he's trying to do, which is to get the state to specifically fund LSU as a flagship (meaning no more budget battles and competitive pay for prof's against the likes of Bama, aTm, UGA, etc...)
0% that will happen with a shitty football team.

Okay, guys, you have finally made me want to kill myself.

This is what happens when you open a fan message board to people who have no stake whatsoever in the university outside of paying the necessary ransom to buy football tickets.

Goodbye.

The strategic plan has been developed over the last 18-20 months. It was scheduled for launch this fall. No matter who was coaching the football team or their record.

I know the university's main goal is education and research. No one disputes that.

But is there any doubt that the timing and content of that letter is specifically to remind football fans of their place.

That letter to me says we are stuck with Alleva and O for as long a FKing is around and frick any football fan who presumes to tell him their opinion.

Florida became sole flagship designation in the state as FSU was appearing in the CFP and the Gators went 4-8 the year before.

You're a fricking idiot. I really hope you're not an LSU alum. There's absolutely nothing wrong with the message he sent out.
