Red zone offense this year certainly has suffered due to the issues throwing the ball.

I feel like the majority of the passes we threw in the red zone were fades... annoying to watch.

That my friends is unacceptable at this level of football. Its embarrassing, no other way to spin it.

LSU led the conference this year in rushing yards, yards per carry, yards per game and rushing touchdowns. That's awesome, no other way to spin it.

We also led the SEC in rushing yards per game the past two seasons. Finally, despite playing 1 less game than all other SEC teams, we led the conference in rushing yards gained this year.

Wait, are you suggesting that LSU has had problems with the offense?

It's tough to answer that question because everybody knows it's almost impossible to go undefeated in two seasons when you are that ineffective at throwing the football.

Passing offenses are all the rage right now.

Sure

But all of the top teams also have great running games

You don't see one dimensional pass happy offenses win anything

I'm just pointing out how bad our passing game has been the last two years with different quarterbacks. That amount of passing TDs in two seasons is very very bad at this level. I would hope you can see that too.
Harris was tied for 6th in the SEC in TD passes while playing with a RB who was 2nd in the SEC in TDs.

LSU led the SEC in rushing touchdowns.

LSU also led the SEC in rushing yards, yards per carry, and yards per game.

And we still have lost 8 games to date with another game left to play. My whole point is it's obvious that we need some balance. That's all.

Psssst... your agenda is showing

Goes both ways... anyone saying "what if we were undefeated" or "but, but, but it was his first year starting, why include that data" is showing their agenda as well.

We had elite units in 2011 and we saw how well that one dimensional offense worked... Defense and special teams bailed us out all year...

Jake Coker had 15 TDs this year with 8 Ints in 12 games
Brandon Harris had 12 TDs with 5 Ints in 11 games.
Stats never tell the whole story.

Lol. Feel like I can describe at least 18 of them. I bet if I had at least one guy guessing with me, we'd get them all. That's pretty sad.

To this point, we had a running game that looked unstoppable during the beginning of the season, but many were calling for more passing because it would eventually be needed. Others thought the concerns were ridiculous because you can't take the ball out of the hands of a RB as successful as LF7. I think we all know how this turned out.

Omg, so you think a few more pass attempts in games where the pass wasn't working to begin with was somehow going to make them that much better 2 weeks later?

We lost those games because we couldn't run the ball. If you can't run the ball in this league, you will lose. The oline played poorly. You are done when that happens.

That is correct but when nobody respects your passing game it's really hard to run.

Winning cures all

If they had 23 total touchdowns on offense but we're undefeated last two years, would not care.

But it's a clown question.

Not for the average Rant poster. We could go 14-0 5 straight years but if we won every game by 1 point they would want the coach fired.

Obviously it isn't working.

Besides, these stats are the equivalent to saying I ran more because I ran longer.

Well no shite LSU has more rushing yards, we have more rushing attempts than any team in the SEC. If we didnt, that would be even more embarrassing. In the end, that stat is not translating to wins or putting LSU in position to win anything. Therefore, they should change it, right?

15 TDs x 2 = 30>23

Well, since we are nowhere near being undefeated I think we can safely say the lack of TD passes IS an issue!!
