But they are not undefeated. You know what they say about ifs and buts.

I agree with your point, but sadly that just isn't the case....and the offense is/has been the primary reason

It's tough to answer that question because everybody knows it's almost impossible to go undefeated in two seasons when you are that ineffective at throwing the football.

Passing offenses are all the rage right now.

If our defense had played half as well the whole month of November as they did last Saturday none of this talk is going around. People forget how bad our defense had been.
Early in the year the Offense scored at will and all the while we had a limp dick defense. Once the offense struggled the game was often out of reach before half time.

Of course it would be dude but they are not. Not even close. If they could go undefeated by running it up the middle every play of every game I wouldn't care. That is not going to happen though, you have to be able to pass.

But you did just have a rb tie the school record for tds. You got to give a little somewhere.

Last year sucked, I'm not denying that.

Would be way more than 23 TDs... And if not, we would have a Heisman winning RB.

I see the point you are trying to make, but what if, hypothetically, our tailbacks had 60 touchdowns during that same time-span?

During LSU's most prolific passing season, 2001, Rohan Davey only threw for 21 touchdowns while Toefield and Davis combined for 28 touchdowns.

I understand that 23 touchdowns in 24 games versus 21 touchdowns in 13 games is not the same, but keep in mind that Davey and Mauck had 461 pass attempts to Harris and Jennings' 526...nevermind. On second thought, that shite is pretty pathetic.

In 2011, JL and JJ combined for 20 TD passes to just 5 INTs.

What a time to be alive, that was.

Ouch.
I looked up Navy to compare.
They threw for 6 less touchdowns in those two years, but on about ONLY 40 percent of the passing attempts.
They averaged a touchdown every 13.75 passes, whereas we averaged one every 20 passes.

LSU is a running team. Most of their touchdowns will come from the running game. They are in the top 20 in rushing touchdowns this year so their passing touchdowns are not gonna be that high. It's a give and take. I am willing to put money on the teams that have the most passing TD's aren't gonna have that many rushing TD's.
