I honestly don't know what this season holds for us. We can easily lose every game in the west and win every game in the west. That 2011 defense was something special due to Mathieu. We can see that because 2012 returned almost everyone and we weren't as dominant. The offense looks better on paper than the 2011 offense because of the talent. Can these guys put it together is the question. We will know after week 2 whether or not this will be a long year.

I think the team makes a NY6 bowl this year.

This is the first time looking at our schedule and not finding an automatic win. That was not the case in 2011 even though our non conference was worlds tougher than this year.

I hope so. I think this will be like 2010 and we will use it as a platform for 2016

What I was getting at is that you seem to be saying every other team in the west is better than LSU. Sort of insinuating that LSU will be a cakewalk. You don't really think that, right? Really asking. Not trying to be a jerk.

Are the teams in the west talented, of course.

Ole Miss has a new QB who seems to follow trouble around, Dak Prescott is very good at Moo St but who's he throwing the ball to?

Auburn has a new QB. Bama has a new QB.

Just to name a few.

It just seems like you're saying all those teams are talented and LSU isn't. Lose every game in the west? Come on, man.

I don't think he means go 0-6 in the west, just that each game on its own is a possible loss. I don't think that's even debatable considering Miss State is projected last and that's a 50-50ish game.

That I can see. All of the conference games will be tough.

The OP just phrased it strangely. No offense to the OP though.

I agree. Even going back and watching the 2011 games, it's mind-boggling at how many close games LSU was in until the badger completely took over.

I tend to lean more towards a 2010ish team to that goes 10-3/11-2 and sets 2016 up to be special

No LSU will definitely not be a cake walk this season. I'm saying this is as even of a playing field in the west as I've ever seen. I can see us going 0-6 and 6-0 becaus the teams are so split evenly.

State has Dak and he was a one man wrecking crew last season
A&M is known for their high flying offense and now have an upgrade on defense
Auburn has a really good QB coming in and kicked our arse last year
Ole Miss returns 8 on their already very impressive defense
Bama is bama
Arkansas has an offense that mirrors ours and has a lot of momentum coming into the year.

The only reason I say we could be bad is because we were terrible on offense last year and we just lost our defensive coordinator. I'm afraid it could be the perfect storm for LSU, but I have faith in Miles

They also have a terrible offensive line outside of Tunsil. If anybody watched that pathetic showing of a spring game they had, would know this.

Dak Prescott is very good at Moo St

Yeah Dak is legit but they lost 3 starters on their offensive line. De'runnya Wilson is legit threat at WR but what other legitimate threats do they have? They also lost their 2 best defensive players in MLB Benardrick McKenney & DE Preston Smith. That production & leadership will be missed.

Every changing season, brings new a vibe to every time. Teams are not the same every year. Some grow, some regress. There's always different factors but the majority of fans get too caught up believing teams will be exactly as they were the year before. History teaches us this simply isn't the case at all.

It is very reminiscent of the 2012 squad, but the west as a whole is better than 2012 and that's where the problem lies.

Seems to me that with all the talented teams in the west, that could help out LSU provided we win those games.

I'm not trying to be a jerk at all. The West is tough and I can promise you every fan from all of those teams are concerned about us.

I see what you're saying, but the only knock anyone has on us is qb when nobody else in the west besides ms state has a proven one.lsu has more talent than anybody in the conference across the board.a year like 2011 is totally possible.Alabama was the only team that could really play 4 qtrs with us that year.this year the entire west can make noise but not even bama has the weapons we have.fact!
