Well, its that time of year again. Look what ESPN announced on Valentine's Day!

Note the "standard" broadcast times are switching from 6:30pm Central to 7pm. I really liked those early kickoffs that ended by 10:15pm almost always.

Get ready for a Pac-12 October on Thursday nights… with some even-later kickoffs!!!

First time in many years that South Carolina or Clemson is not on a Thursday night.

This schedule really sucks. I'm looking foward to two games.

Traditionally, Thursday night games have been terrible and dominated by the Big East. I actually think there are some good games in addition to the 2 you mentioned:

1. Va Tech vs. UNC
2. Va Tech vs. Ga Tech
3. USC vs. Cal

Exactly. If anything it appears to be an upgrade from Thursday night games of previous years.

Partly agree but mostly disagree.

Thursday Night Football has been dominated by the ACC and Big East, with probably a few more ACC games than Big East games.

And in the last 3-5 or so years, 1-2 SEC games, 1-2 Big XII games, and 1-2 Pac 10 games. But still mostly ACC and Big East.

Competition-wise, I definitely disagree. In the course of the last 3-4 seasons, there have been a bunch of great Thursday night games. I seem to recall some duds in 2010, but I hope that was an anomaly.

Thursday Night Football is a GREAT way to get the weekend started early!!

Generally, I do too,but I think having the extra few days to prepare to go to West Va. will be a good thing.

It's horrible for all the families around the state that have kids that are playing football and are members of spirit groups such as the bands, pep squads, dance lines and cheerleaders.

I love the Thursday night games. My favorite ever was when USC lost to Oregon a few years ago

Meh, It's nice having a Saturday in the fall to not worry about LSU and just watch football, drink, and not care about the outcomes of games.

I still look at Thursday night games as a place for "lower profile" schools to showcase themselves to get recognition for their programs. When it started that's all you would see. Hell Thursday night games built Va Tech. I guess I'm just stuck in tradition. I like my Friday nights for high school, Saturdays for college, and Sunday for the pros.

Our schedule is really tough. We have two short week games against tough opponents (@MSU and ARK), two OOC games against the probable conference champs away from home, and @Bama. I honestly don't see how we go undefeated with this schedule. I'm thinking at least 2 or 3 losses would be expected.

I guess the following will sound callous... but as a college football fan, I don't really give a shite. Especially as an LSU fan, a team that has been on ESPN Thursday Night Football exactly once (soon-to-be-twice) since 1996 (guessing origin year here).

And both of those will be road-games at Miss. St.

Now, if you are Georgia Tech or Virginia Tech and you have to do this twice a year, every year... maybe you gotta beef.

Same for West Virginia. Seems like they always play on a few Thursday or Friday Nights.

well... two things...

1) this schedule is incomplete... notice the gaps such as Thursday, Sept. 1, Thursday, Sept. 8, Thursday, Sept. 29 & Thursday, Nov. 24 (presumably UT-A&M)

2) no Friday games scheduled YET (nor Tuesday nor Wednesday MAC games... also expect a couple Sunday evening C-USA games)
