re: If Ohio State gets in over Penn State - lsumatt
Penn State has more losses. Should USC go to the playoff over Washington too?...

re: Chase Ritz Carlton card check in - lsumatt
I would like to know the loophole as well. It looks like the easiest thing is to purchase seat upgrade vouchers to be used later. I was also considering just getting an annual membership to a an airport lounge....

re: Chase Ritz Carlton card check in - lsumatt
How can I/should I spend my annual $300 by the end of the year if I don't plan to fly? Is there a good airport lounge membership I can get for ~$300 that isn't covered by priority pass?...

Just picked my Ritz up at the doorstep 10 minutes ago. Is the $300 per calendar year or subscription year? I don't plan on flying soon what else can I spend it on?...

re: Ingeniero's list of winners and losers - lsumatt
Yes, Nate silver said trump had about a 30% chance and was fighting liberals on it. I don't know why people hate him so much for what he does. If the polls themselves are wrong that isn't on silver but the pollsters...

Trump lost Virginia by 5%. Romney lost it by less than 4%. Both times northern Virginia votes came in late....

re: Nate Silver is done ; It's Over - lsumatt
I know he is a big lib but I don't understand the hate for Silver. You developed a model based on polling inputs to predict probabilities. His model is only as good as those inputs which are out of his control and how you and me respond on a phone. His prediction gave trump nearly a 30% chance as...

re: Credit Card Rewards and Points Discussion - lsumatt
Don't forget 2/30 rule.
Thanks. I got the CSP in June and the CSR in late August. So I don't think that is an issue. The letter just said "you already have the maximum amount of credit we can offer you" and "your current amount of credit is enough in relation your income" So jus...

re: Credit Card Rewards and Points Discussion - lsumatt
I got the CSP and CSR in the last 5 months. They gave me ridiculously high credit limits for both even though I didn't ask for it. I really the Ritz Carlton card because I plan to stay at the one in Maui for a honeymoon. So I applied and got rejected because Chase already has given me a high cred...

re: Florida Early Voting Numbers (11/3 update) | GOP surges to lead - lsumatt
Do you by any chance have the same numbers for 2012? Not Romney vs. Obama, but rather Rep/Dem/Independent as you have in the OP?...

re: Atmospheeric carbon crosses the 400 PPM threshhold - lsumatt
know. I don't think that question even makes sense to be honest.
So maybe a warmer planet is actually better? Did you know that the scientist Arrenhius was the first to suggest CO2 emissions eould warm the planet..and he was THRILLED!...

Remind me - what is the perfect global average temperature and what year did that occur? If emitting CO2 cooled the planet would you advocate burning more fossil fuels?...

re: Trump at 54.9% at 538...before the debate? - lsumatt
There are about 6 or 7 "blue" states that are barely blue and if any turned red he would be over 270. In nate's model, trump has less than 50% chance of winning any of them individually, but as a whole would probably win at least one. ...

re: Credit Card Rewards and Points Discussion - lsumatt
I will be using my priority pass (via CSR) tomorrow for the first time on my way to Dubai. I will go through JFK on the way there and San Fran on the way back. Advice on the best ones at those 3 airports? What are the rules regarding guests with priority pass? It seems like you pay $30 per guest ...

re: A comic related to global warming. Are we doomed? - lsumatt
Can we add average life span, infant mortality rate, per capita income, and average quality of life to that plot too? Any chance the supposed cause of the warning on the plot has also had a positive effect on these other things?...

re: FiveThirtyEight Update 9/4: Trump now projected to win NC and Iowa - lsumatt
He has to win Ohio. He's not going to win Pennsylvania without Ohio, because PA is basically a bluer Ohio. So whatever he does in Ohio subtract 3-7 points in PA...

re: Can Trump win pop. vote big and still lose electorate? - lsumatt
No, not really. It is a near statistical impossibility to win the popular vote by more than 2% and lose the college. Even a 1% popular edge makes the candidate a big favorite. People use al gore as an example but he only won the popular vote by 0.5% and lost multiple states by extremely slim margins...

re: Credit Card Rewards and Points Discussion - lsumatt
I just booked a venue for a wedding reception. It is a "club" that specializes in dining. They charge an extra 3.5% to pay with credit card. My first reaction was to not pay with credit card but it may still be worth it if I use the CSR or freedom card (at the right quarter) if it counts as dining r...
