re: The American path to financial "success" - lsumatt
Oh. I assumed that was included. I "failed" the field sobriety test and then they made me blow at which point I blew a 0.0000. I then went home....
NEVER submit to a field sobriety test,
I hear this a lot on here. So the time I got pulled over when I had drank nothing but water, I should have spent the night in jail, got my name in the paper, and lost my license for a year instead of sleeping in my own bed? ...

Lost audiobooks on iphone - lsumatt
I bought several audiobooks last summer from iTunes which were somewhat pricey. I replaced my iPhone in the fall with a new one and backed the phone on iCloud but now I can't find any of the audiobooks. Google search seems to suggest they don't get backed up on iCloud (wtf?) and attempting to dow...

re: Where to watch in Austin? - lsumatt
What's Shoal Creek like? I usually go to Lavaca
It's a Louisiana bar with mostly cajun/seafood. Have a big Saints helmet out front and very LSU/Saints friendly. I used to go a lot 8-10 years ago because they had nothing but 27" tube TVs, so I quit going. At least they have flat...

re: I was surprised that LSU wasn't in the top 25. - lsumatt
If La Tech and Murray both won conf tourneys, do you think LSU would be in the NCAA's? I doubt it.
We are a fricking 9 seed! We made the tourney ahead of about 12 teams. On what planet would LSU have not made the tournament with those two teams winning their conference tourn...

re: Isn't Craig Victor a big man? - lsumatt
I may be in the minority, but I think Malone has the potential to improve a lot and be a strong starter his senior year if he sticks around. I think he is a decent 3 point shooter and that hasn't been visible this year (he shot over 40% last year and had nice touch. The fact that he continues to try...

re: The 8/9 seed myth (or not) - lsumatt
in order for an 8/9 team to advance to the Sweet 16, it must be a Final Four caliber squad. Ask yourself, is LSU that level of quality?
I don't know what makes an 8 seed "final four caliber", but being 6-1 against tourney teams (many on the road) with the 1 loss being by 2 to one ...

re: The 8/9 seed myth (or not) - lsumatt
WTF is this? When has a 16 seed ever won a game in the dance?
His math is based on if an average team got a 16 seed. So a team like NC state or LSU would win as a 16 seed 8% of the time. 16 seeds are usually terrible....

re: The 8/9 seed myth (or not) - lsumatt
Im comparing a 10 or 11 to exactly what we are - a 9. There IS a difference in that. It's not big, but about what you would expect.
There is the biggest difference between an 8 and a 9. Do you really think being an 8 seed is really that much better than an 8? Heck 9 seeds beat 8 se...
, it's about making the Sweet 16. Here's the important chart:
Why is winning the NC or making the final four not a goal? 8 seeds have historically done better than 10/11 seeds...

re: The 8/9 seed myth (or not) - lsumatt
Sooooo...it is better to be a 10 or 11.
??? By these numbers 8 seed is best. But really there is no statistical difference between the 4. An 8/9 seed has won 1 more game than a 10/11. You missed the point...

The 8/9 seed myth (or not) - lsumatt
There is a lot of talk on here about how horrible it is to be an 8 or 9 seed and a 10 or 11 seed is so much better. I am not so sure. So I looked up some numbers since 1985 (when the tourney expanded to 64 teams). [link=(http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/ncaa-tournament/history/finalfour...

re: Man the seeding some teams got today showed me how messed over our 09 team got. - lsumatt
The fact that they were paired with the #1 overall team means they were a borderline 9 seed. And they were paired with a butler team that could have been a six seed themselves. ...
