Tony Brown - Arrested first 2 weeks on campus
I think that will wash out and it really was wrong place wrong time. I still think he is a real good kid!
Good family, good background, hard worker and good student. I can tell by his demeanor that he is a good kid.
I could be wrong though.

I mean, that wasn't a knock on them at all.
They have had a great few years. They have been in the national spotlight since Manziel took over and they moved to the SEC.
You couldn't draft a more perfect transition for them from BIG12 to the SEC.

I guess I consider losing 12 games over the past 3 seasons "decent/good" rather than "great"

Jimmy Smith reported that he got into some trouble on his OV here. It was not disclosed what happened. It wasn't even publicized by anyone other than Jimmy.

Jesus, Karr had 18 kids sign football scholorships?? That is amazing. How in the hell did they loose a game?
Tony Brown's family is not a class act. They tried to act like they were but when it got down to the nitty gritty they treated LSU like shite.

for those who don't want NSd to end, here goes.....
-Noel Ellis and dad not happy with LSU, takes his ball to aTm
-SN decides aTm, Ellis no doubt some influence
-GW3 would probably have gone to LSU if SN did, goes UF
-suddenly DT is wide open, and we get Valentine and Trey L
-Trey L certainly knows the Teuhumas from being Texas commits - including a 2015 5star - and we get them, and maybe even the 4 star lineman cousin next year
And LSU has offered a big time player from Valentine's class in 2015. LSU much more in the minds of those players now that he is LSU.
It's a dynamic process, but when one door closes, sometimes two or more open. Don't worry about who we lost, but who we won.
Anyway the pendulum here in NOLA City is swinging from Karr to Warren Easton in 2015, fighting off aTm will be a battle there.
In the future can you go a little lighter on the abbreviations for us older, less cool readers?

Tony is going to do something in college that Kwame Harris couldn't.

Oh crap. The caveat "I may be wrong" was good then?

Sumlin is a great recruiter
Agreed. Very charismatic and personable, so I'm sure he has a great sales pitch.

TAMU has had a great few years.
Above average.

The program is investing tons and tons of money. It's paying dividends now.
I'll give them this. The renovations to Kyle Field look great, and the university/alumni have a ton of cash to throw at the football program. There's a ton of money surrounding that program, and donations are going to keep rising now that A&M is a more stable team in the top conference.
A&M was 6th in revenue during the 2012 season at $119.7 million and 25th in expenses at $81.8 million. For comparison, LSU pulled in $114.8 million in revenue and had $102 million in expenses.
*Look at the jump in contributions from 2011 to 2012.

It's about more than wins and losses. It's marketing and PR.

Drug testing - i'm sure all i am doing is spreading a rumor here, but multiple people that are close to recruiting (i hate the word "sources") but ... in this case, multiple people have said a big lure to A&M for speedy was that he was promised he wouldn't be drug tested at any point in his career
Just FYI- this made it on the Texas Ags forum...
