SN/GW3 may have unwittingly set a really good chain of events in motion for LSU

for those who don't want NSd to end, here goes.....

-Noel Ellis and dad not happy with LSU, takes his ball to aTm

-SN decides aTm, Ellis no doubt some influence

-GW3 would probably have gone to LSU if SN did, goes UF

-suddenly DT is wide open, and we get Valentine and Trey L

-Trey L certainly knows the Teuhumas from being Texas commits - including a 2015 5star - and we get them, and maybe even the 4 star lineman cousin next year

And LSU has offered a big time player from Valentine's class in 2015. LSU much more in the minds of those players now that he is LSU.

It's a dynamic process, but when one door closes, sometimes two or more open. Don't worry about who we lost, but who we won.

Anyway the pendulum here in NOLA City is swinging from Karr to Warren Easton in 2015, fighting off aTm will be a battle there.

Why in the hell is TAMU so attractive to NO recruits? Makes no sense to me.

Warren Easton won't go the same way Karr did.

I think some of them want to put NO in the rearview and see what else is out there. Also can't discount Sumlin is black and that will appeal to some kids and parents.

Beercity -

Not playing the race card but

Sumlin - black head coach definitely carries weight in the living room. Especially when over 90% of all new orleans prospects are young african american men.

The offense - wide open, spread, fast, but plays in the SEC.. What did it lack... SEC size and speed which all over N.O.

The defense currently - so young and crappy... sumlin can tell any one that they'll come in and play right away. There aren't too many positions lsu can say like that right now.

Drug testing - i'm sure all i am doing is spreading a rumor here, but multiple people that are close to recruiting (i hate the word "sources") but ... in this case, multiple people have said a big lure to A&M for speedy was that he was promised he wouldn't be drug tested at any point in his career

Flavor of the Day. aTm is offering everybody to get a few. The lesser ones will be processed (especially as they reel in more quality classes), but they don't get it now.

It used to be Nebraska, Michigan, the U, a while back. LSU just has to be honest with the NOLA players and not play games.

Not going to touch all the conspiracy theory stuff, I'll let others do that. My guess is that aTm will try to rule Texas now first and get keep those guys from going to UT. Next year may be the last shotgun approach to recruiting move here in NOLA by aTm.

Amen...the real misses through the years have been few, and the typically haven't been the meltdown ones.

I heard the same , I predicted his career could closely resemble TM7 in every way.

If true, Speedy better hope that he gets the smoking stuff out of the way before he hits the NFL, if all works out.

My son is a former FB player and still works out at a gym/weight lifting place with several former high school, college, and Saints players. He told me the "No Drug Test" rumor at aTm was going around at the gym . He heard it too.

I really think that this class is going to set LSU off in a new direction. For a while I thought we were headed in the direction of Florida, getting some "questionable" types that were good athletes and hoping they pan out. This class seems full of good character dudes, and I'm extremely excited to see them progress.

Tony Brown - Arrested first 2 weeks on campus
GW3- Might not even qualify
Speedy Noil- If the weed rumors are true, didn't want him anyway. Okay that's a lie I'd risk it hes too good.
CamRob- Could be special but could end up a guard and we are loaded there
Hootie- Got Jamal Adams instead

Not sure about the drug testing part but I can confirm that many A&M players I know of smoke loads of weed and have never gotten in trouble

On defense ATM is bad... They could come right in an get playing time. There is 0 depth there right now. Noil looked like a prima Donna to me, not a high character person that miles and porter want. Just my gut.

Yeah, but isn't College Station and A&M majority white? I find it hard to believe that Sumlin being black outweighs the fact that the school and area are majority white, if indeed race played a part in the decision. Plus, Speedy's primary recruiter was Frank (black) and position coach would have been Henry (black).

I really hope this is just a bad rumor. If that sealed the deal for him then he's got his priorities a tad off. Forget the depth chart, academics, coaching... here you can smoke dope.
