Great kid. Don’t understand why you are shitting on him with this thread?

Great kid from a great family, he deserves success.

I've read this about the kid from comments on here, but I usually take such character evaluations with a grain of salt, mostly because I know neither the individual nor the person critiquing his character. But since I know you, I know what you say about him is 100 percent correct. I was hoping Scott would turn into a great QB for us and was a little disappointed when he left. Not sure how much time he has left. But I'd tend to believe he'd have a good shot to start at Nichols.

I admire him for trying to become the qb at LSU. It took a lot of guts. It didn’t work out, so he moved on. I wish him the best.

I really hope people in the comments don’t say anything bad about this kid. He’s a good kid who comes from a good family and he’s also extremely smart, hence the Harvard offer.

So right on. While I’m an LSU grad and fan, if offered an athletic scholarship to an elite school, take it. Unless you are a truly rare athlete, the best long term game plan is to select a program by what university offers the best education and upward mobility. I’ve never understood why anyone would choose an SEC school over an offer from an Ivy.

As for Scott, it is apparent that he really wanted a shot at playing big time college football. You can’t fault him for chasing his dream, but he didn’t ask me for advice, and doesn’t care what I would think anyway. I just hope it works out for him. I suspect we will hear about him again as a successful business professional.

Thinking about this as if it were my own child, Scott's best decision would've been to go to a FBS school with high academics, that would've given him an opportunity to get a great education and also play somewhat high level football. Rice, Georgia Tech, Vanderbilt, Northwestern, etc.

He did not take an Ivy League offer because they do not offer Athletic Scholarships in the Ivy League.

God I remember a few fan boys here losing there mind every time this kids name was mentioned.

Just shows how quick some people are to jump on certain players bandwagons with absolutely nothing to go on for doing so.
Other than some HS stats.

I think Tulane is where he should have gone from the start and he would have been perfect for that system.

Same here. Pretty easy choice to me if you’re not certified NFL material, then you don't pass up an Ivy League opportunity.

People regret Dak for what he became, not what he was. He only had 2 p5 offers (us and MSU. TCU wasn't in the Big 12 yet and had no idea they would be at that point). Mullen was the perfect coach to develop him. He made the right choice.

The point of the post was there have been no legit QB’s from LA since Dak. If there have been, then name them and quit being a tool.

You are correct in that they "don' offer scholarships" but also, those kids aren't paying even half of the full cost of attendance.

They give athletes grant and aid out of the arse.

I always wondered why there was such a buzz about the kid. Some were presenting him as the next Johnny Unitas , others saying he wasn't worth a shite , & this w/o playing a down at LSU . If there were someone to point a finger at , try GoodOleLess .He always makes a great punching bag.

I know LSU “needed” to take a qb in that class but I was pushed when he came instead of Harvard

Correct, but he would’ve gone for free anyway. They have so much aid available, it works out to be the same.

? There have been many, many high school stars who were flops in college

While what you’re saying is true, think how many of those ‘flops’ would have been successful in today’s CFB and the lax transfer rules. 10 years ago, Burrow would be sitting on the bench at Ohio State, considered by those that even knew who he was to be a flop.

Today, he’s a Heismen front runner and the face of a top 3 team.

None of that has anything to do with Scott, just something I thought of.

No, Burrow would still be leading a top 3 team and out front for the heisman. Only difference is it would be for OSU instead of LSU.
