I'm ignorant on the subject of Scott @ Mizzou.. was he legit not given a fair chance to compete for the starting job? Coaches want the best player out there @ QB. Why would they not start him unless he just wasn't the best there? (Honestly curious because I have no clue what happened there)

This is an honest question. I have absolutely zero hard feelings and wish nothing but the very best for him. But was he really not given a real/fair chance to start @ Mizzou?

Are you purposefully leaving some off to make your biased point? Aren’t there other QBs who also haven’t been successful? One at Arkansas. Another went to Northwestern of the Big Ten. There are others, but I assume they don’t fit the picture you are trying to paint. And of the guys you list, only Brandon Harris is out of eligibility.

hope he finds a good sspot for his lat two years.
All I remember was the kid was a winner in high school whether he ahd teh measurables or not. In the right setting, probably a lower level conference he could shine like McMillan at Tulane.

He has a tremendous arm to go with his ability to run. If he were 2 inches taller in high school he would have been a high 4 star top 100 player with an offer list of the best teams in the nation.

That's great and all but he has been on two sec teams and transferred from both because he wasn't going to play. If playing football is something he wants to do he needs to go to USM or Tulane.

He said top QB’s. Cole Kelley and Zach Oliver were barely 3*’s. Calm down

He was really solid in high school. The thing that hurt him the most when he hit college is his size. He should have stayed with his original commitment to Syracuse or left LSU for Tulane. He might have even had a shot at Kansas had he gone there instead.

Did you get offered a Harvard admission? For that matter, did you get offered any college admission?

Nope on the Harvard. Not smart enough.
But i am smart enough to see the guy is not SEC starting material.
I sure dont hate the kid, but i hated his recruitment and positioning by those around him.
This board wanted coaches fired because he was supposed to be cant miss.

It's another reminder to take player evaluations from the rant as entertainment, only.

A lot of bad juju with top QBs coming out of Louisiana since Dak.

Brandon Harris
Lowell Narcisse
Keytaon Thompson
Lindsey Scott
Justin Rogers

I know Scott came here but he wasnt really a top QB rankings wise. But yeah, that's kind of a really bad list of QBs overall.

- Harris obviously busted here and then was awful at UNC
- Narcisse is running 3rd string at UTSA of all places (behind another sophomore and senior)
- Thompson is TBD after losing job this year and transferring at MSU
- Scott went from LSU to JUCO to Missouri to ???
- Rogers 2nd year at TCU and he's running 3rd string behind a bad graduate transfer from KSU and a freshman

Let's hope TJ Finley breaks the trend

Uh, if you had quoted his whole post instead of just the list, it would have said "top" QBs since Dak. Seems like the whole point was to say that Dak Prescott was pretty much the last really good top QB from Louisiana that actually panned out at the college level or higher.

How were you reading his post? Sure seemed like you were looking for something more than that ...

Prolly because wonderful tiger fans like yourself would get all butthurt if we missed out on a talented in-state kid regardless if It was warranted.

Not many thought that Scott was an SEC caliber quarterback. He was Miles last gasp attempt to get a Qb commit that season, grasping at straws.
I actually feel bad for the kid.

Scott didn't have high rankings but he won a state championship at Zachary and was Mr. Football/ Gatorade POY his senior year.

It is interesting when someone agrees with another's agenda, they come to the defense of that person's posts. So when you realized that Scott was also a 3 star, you decided to create a new rating "barely 3*'s", to distinguish him from the other 3*'s left off the list, huh? So Scott's 3*'s made him a "top QB" versus Kelly's and Oliver's 3*'s? And that is why he was included on the list and they were left off, right? Come on man!!!!

Why the negativity about the kid? He wanted to be a power conf QB and chased that dream. Could he have played more and earlier at a smaller school? Probably. But I'm not going to criticize someone for trying to achieve a goal. I'm sure he knew there was a risk he wouldn't get on the field at an SEC school, yet he chose to try anyway.

He can still get a college degree and still be a successful person. And he can do it without any regret about not trying to achieve his dream of playing in the SEC.

When you get a chance to go to an Ivy League and pass it up to go to LSU (LSU grad), you messed up.

This is myth.
Harvard never offered “admission” to this young man.
A Harvard coach expressed interest. None was returned.
There has been a great deal of fiction surrounding this young man, who I understand is a very nice person. He has a lot of vocal, enthusiastic fans.
Oh, and he also did not grow three inches after committing to LSU.

I’ve always doubted the “he could have gone to Harvard” crowd.
