and the way you guys have been trashing on Ludwig makes it seem like you wouldn't like that..

I haven't said one word bout Ludwig and you will not find a post of mine "trashing on" him, any LSU player, or any LSU coach. I don't pizz on my own.

I did speak to Ludwig at the beginning of the season or preseason and my comment was that I thought he would take a yr or two, but in time he had the chance to be productive for us. I still feel that way, but of the two I think Matt has the greater upside and the greater chance to be productive sooner.

agree to disagree. i think if you give Ludwig some time he'll develop into a very productive player but I think Derenbecker is gonna struggle on the next level.

Perhaps we should say just a tad more cause this singe A Country Day had beaten:
5-A Bro Martin
5-A Higgins
4-A McDonogh 35
4-A GenOaks
3-A Holy Cross
3-A Parkview Baptist
2-A John Curtis
and a number of higher classed out of state schools

seen him a couple of times, should be okay by his junior or senior year, slow not very quick usually doesn't work in the SEC. don't see much of an impact next year like this team needs

Derenbecker is more "SEC ready" than Ludwig but going from playing SG/SF in HS to the SEC is a tough transition for anyone. One thing that LSU fans will enjoy about him is he an exceptional catch and shoot player. If he continues to hone that skill he will be very beneficial to opening things up for the LSU big men.

Derenbecker competes and he has a mean streak to him that comes naturally. This will certainly make him a fan favorite.

there is something to be said for tenacity and competitiveness of a guy like Blanton. Some guys can succeed with moderate athletic ability and a ton of heart. However Blanton was a much better athlete than people tend to give him credit for.

check out his arms in this schedule poster

Bottom line is he is better than anybody on the team this year with the exception of Mitchell. I saw him play once and he had 37 pts. A nice player!!!

No offense to Ludwig, but that's my take as well.

I think Matt has a shot at being a very good player for LSU, but I'm just not sure how long it takes him to get his SEC legs under him.

After seeing him complete, I, for one, am happy Trent signed him.

Saw him play last night, and I will say I did not walk away impressed. Good high school player, but I didn't view him as a great talent. Now I will say the team they played was not very good, but he didn't take over the game at all. I think he scored 4 points in the second half. I love Trent Johnson think he is doing good things, I was just not impressed with the kid based off of last night.

is he legit? anybody watched him play??

I've heard mixed reviews but more good than bad.

But he better be a significant contributor from the start cause it looks as if we used a scholarship for his teammate to help in getting him and I'm worried as to whether his teammate can ever play consistently at the SEC level.

Hope I'm wrong.

i think his ability to get others involved is slightly underrated. seems like a nice player. add him with the rest of the class and its a reason to be optimistic. by no means is this kid a program savior, nor is stringer or courtney or turner but together it is a very nice class with malcolm white.
