looks like he can stroke the 3 in the videos. has a chance to start, but no, I havent seen him play. Next year I think we'll be mainly seeing:

Stringer
Ross-Miller
Spencer
Harris
Derenbecker
Warren
White
Dotson

with a little Bass here and there maybe. Not sure how much time Kinsley and Green will be getting. Hopefully the rest of the walkons besides Kinsley will only be playing when walkons are supposed to be.

Is Ross-Miller a pg? Judging by his ht and wt, I would say so. He is also listed as higher on Rivals than Stringer. Which one starts and/or which one takes the redshirt? We really do not need 4 point guards and Dotson, too, do we?

Yes, he is a point guard, but Stringer is rated higher than he is.

I coached against him growing up in Hammond. He is fundamentally sound and has a great head on his shoulders (great basketball IQ). Will be a great asset to the team. He has gotten better every year!

Derenbecker will be a star at LSU by the time he graduates.

Not overly athletic but I've seen him play twice and he's very savvy with and without the ball.

Not to mention he can shoot lights out.

Yes.

He's complete player. Nice shot, handles the ball well, leader on his team, moves his feet pretty good on D, smart, and plays hard every min.

I think he will help us right away. Not saying he's great or will start as an Fr, but he will at least be a starter at sometime and if he continues to get better he will be a solid SEC type player.

Could end up being a poor man's JJ Reddick... Depending on work ethic and bit of luck.

I thought he would be more like a Ross Neltner when he was at Vandy?

No to jj redick and no to neltner.

He will be more like a Bruan bershera (sp) than those two.

I coached against him and in my humble opinion he's the real deal. He's not fast and not real strong, but he can handle the ball, he's long, can shoot and has solid inside moves. He needs spped and strength, but he knows how to score and he has good blood lines cause his dad was a good player. He is an inside-out threat so if LSU has a point guard and another scorer, derenbecker could be a 14-20 point a night guy

I've seen him play a couple times. I wasn't very impressed. Overall, he doesn't seem like an SEC quality player. He's not very athletic and although he has a nice shot, he is shooting over 5'11'' kids from 1A ball. I don't expect him to contribute in his freshman or sophmore season but he might develop into a nice role player for his junior and senior seasons.

not only will derenbecker help the team a lot, but i see him helping my boy ludwig play to full potential. that whole teammate familiarity thing.

Well, he's 6-7, averaged over 20 per game, rebounded over 11 per game, had 6 assist per game, can score inside or outside, had 31 in the state title game, and was the Louisiana Gatorade POY.

Perhaps you are a tad of a tuff judge cause some found his yr impressive.

BTW, if you think 1A doesn't have its share of over 5-11 guys to guard a 6-7 guy, you haven't seen a lot of 1A teams.

I know a local baton rouge hs coach told me Derenbecker is a very good ball player and definitely SEC talent.
