Is this the one from Miami? I'm thinkin he's like a D Byrd clone.

Come on down Reed and complete this WR class.

Unless this guy is also from Miami, I think you are thinking of Kenbrell Thompkins. Kenbrell is in the same situation with UF, where he is ready to commit but the staff has to look into it first.

Per Dandy Don this morning:
In recruiting news, there are reports that LSU received a commitment from Martavious Lee, a 6'2", 180 wide receiver from Palomar junior college in California. I made two phone calls and have not been able to get the rumor confirmed. I will work on getting more information on the rumor today.

This guy looks like the real deal and after reading this thread and the openings after this year he would be crazy not to commit...that goes for Reed too.

Yeah Thompkins is Fl if they'll let him.

I think Lee will be LSU once we get everything checked out.

Both great receivers but I think Thompkins is a bit longer than Lee. After someone posted the video of Lee, that's the video I was thinking of that made me think of D. Byrd.

Haven't seen any video of Thompkins, how is he?

I don't see LSU offering Thompkins under any scenario.

I can see us taking 5 wide outs this class. If you want to run a bunch of 4 receiver sets, then you really need to have 6 capable guys ready to go to allow for injuries. We have a serious shortage.

...And a JUCO player that can come in and compete immediately is definitely a good way to go. They usually can play immediately (hence the requirement that he's on track to graduate in time to participate in Spring workouts).

i think we'll end up with:

Trovon Reed 5*(really hope he commits, LA boy)
Mike Davis 4*
Martavious Lee 4*(if commitment is CONFIRMED)
Justin Hunter 4*

You see 4.4's thrown around all the time and then you see the film and suddenly they look slow. This kid not only looks fast on film but looks fast on film against jc players not a bunch of kids that are just filling out a high school roster.

From what I saw this kid can flat out pick em up and put em down. I will say that I don't quite buy him being 6'3 though he looks shorter than that standing next to the cb on the film.

Did anyone really stand out this spring as far as recievers go (besides Lafell) They needed someone to step up and I don't remember reading about anyone that did

It was said on several occasions from the secondary guys that they all had problems covering Tim Molton....

I'm marginal on it. I am not impressed, but I have a sneaking suspicion I am wrong.
