yeah, but i was mostly referring to the "burner" type receiver.

with RR's height and speed he may be able to fit the bill once he picks up playbook

Guys, this would be a GREAT pickup. Watch his youtube video and you should all agree.

The only issue is how does this effect where we stand with both Demarco Cobbs and Trovon Reed.

It may also be an indicator that LSU will move Tharold Simon to the defensive side of the ball.

Cobbs and Reed both have spots, but there is no way LSU takes 6 WRs this year. (That doesn't even include Fobbs being offered as a an ATH).

Go watch the youtube video posted above. ML is the real deal. He will come in a contribute from day one.

It also says a ton about how the caoches feel about LSU's current position with their WR corps. Some of the younger guys must not be developing as well as the coaches may have hoped.

I'm a big fan of this kid's ability...mentioned him in the bottom of the thread I started the other day

I'm not putting a whole lot of energy into thinking that we will sign Cobbs.

We are battling OU for his signature. From everything I remember hearing/reading, LSU has a great chance to land him.

Scout shows LSU losing 5 WRs after the 2009 season + D. Peterson moves to TE.

T. Holliday
R. Jackson*
B. LaFell*
C. Mitchell
J. Mitchell

So with 6 less WRs after this season, could that be why they take 4 or 5 in this class?

Lee would be around for two years and one or two of the 2010 signees may redshirt.

I think that only getting Randle in this year's class along with losing five WRs after this season + D. Peterson moving to TE is playing into the elevated number of WR recruits for 2010.

I understand your reasoning. Not to mention that Ricky Dixon has also left. So add another guy to the list of WRs leaving.

The problem is that we will not take a full 25 person class this year and with the numbers expected to be around 20, it would not make sense to take over 25% of a class of WRs when there are other needs as well. I can't see LSU taking more than 5 WRs. We may take some ATHs that COULD play WR, but I think they will inevitably end up on defense.

Holliday is more of a RB than a WR.

I don't see us taking over 25% at WR.

I mentioned 4 or 5 in this class and having one or two redshirt with Lee being gone in two seasons.

I would prefer 3 or 4 WR classes at most, but you have to account for expected and unexpected losses sometimes.

I think 2010 is a special circumstance and the staff will do what they feel is necessary.

They'll lay all of this out in front of Cobbs and/or Reed so that it is clear what the plan is.
