yeah i just bumped it to 1100/1500 with a 20% power bump. 3Dmark score of 8134, no heat or noise concerns.
its a great card.

I'm afraid to go any higher

Push it more! That's nothing for a 7970!

Yeah, it looks like you barely overclocked your memory, for starters.
Are you using afterburner? if so, what is your current GPU core voltage, and what are your max temps while benching?

I can't get the thing to load with my current settings. I'll post a screenshot
It won't let me adjust the core voltage.

Without searching through this thread, what did your 4770K score on the physics test in 3DMark11?
Wondering, because will do some benching now. My CPU is holding my 30k graphics score back.. big time lol. I don't mind if I kill this 3770K, I have backrigs and plan to tear it down in preparation of IB-E.

Lew
Go to settings.. then check the "Unable Voltage Control"
I'm going to tell you right now though, it will be hard to hit 1301 @ 1.3V limit. I believe you could hit 1275 though.

Move the power limit to 20%
Yea 1300/1700 is way too much... Try for 1125/1500 then go from there

Yeah, you have to enable voltage control and possibly unofficial overclocking.

Oh I wonder who would win that?

lol yea no doubt.. he might get 1275 if it is a golden chip.. but realistically his max @ 1.3V will be between 1175-1225.
Edit:
Also Lew, make sure to DL the BETA version of AfterBurner.

in case this was missed back while discussing the ibuypower lulz...
LINK
i think this rig personifies all the things i was talking about.
its 8 core (but a zambezi core)
has 16 gigs of ram (but 1333)
has a blu ray player
and the graphics card for this "gaming" rig? integrated HD3000 on the board.
all for the low low price of only $699 (and hey thats $150 off)

My physics score is 12667: LINK
Start with that. If you beat that score, I'll start tinkering with my settings again.

You don't have to sit through it on the free one either if you would look at the options.
