What would be a decent 1 fan water cooler then?

I had that in my favorites list because the reviews seemed favorable.

H80i would be the minimum to make any sense to liquid cool for the purposes of overclocking. Are you trying to get the most ideal cooling solution to overclock that Pentium, or do you just really want a liquid cooler? Honestly, a hyper 212 would be the most I'd put into cooling it. Spending as much on the cooler as the CPU contradicts the point of the G3258's bang-for-buck status. Beyond that, you might as well put the money you'd spend on a $50+ cooler towards an i3 instead -- essentially a Pentium with hyperthreading. Even at stock, it'll match or beat an overclocked G3258. Hell, the cost of an H80 and G3258 would get you an i5, which would give you a lot more "headroom" for GPU upgrades in the future.

A Hyper 212 will get you more than 90% of any given G3258's overclocking potential (LN2 excluded). The cost of getting that last 10% is rarely worth it from a practical standpoint. You'd need a better cooler in the realm of H80i or Noctua NH-D14, and also a better mobo most likely. The H81 boards, while they may have overclocking support enabled, are not going to sustain the voltage you need for anything beyond a modest overclock.

Hyper 212

It's a great air cooler from a value to performance standpoint. If I wasn't going to OC my i7 - I would have no problems slapping a Hyper 212 on there.

ILikeLsu, thank you for that.

That board I picked tops out a 1.2V for overclocking which inhibits it from going over 4.2Ghz.
Both of those situations I originally included were hypothetical.

I would be curious on seeing how far that G3258 could be pushed before it met its limit. It just seems like a cool little CPU.

Such a terrible time to have an upgrade with ATT right now... I have to wait until november before the rest of the good phones are released

Really want to wait for one of those snapdragon 820 phones, but that could be even longer.

I faced the same issue before I got the Nexus, except I was eligible for an upgrade in April 2014. My choices back then were an HTC M8, Nexus 5, Galaxy S5, Note 3, iPhone 5s, etc. Waited 6 months for the crop of new phones.

I really want to see if that new surface phone is legit, but that is still 3-5 months out

If I was to buy a XLR Microphone, such as the AT2035, would I only need an interface to connect it to the PC or would I need a soundboard too?

Two things I don't understand about 2 PC setups for Streaming/game play videos is how to setup sound and video.

I know for video you need a HDMI splitter like say a 4 input 2 output one. That way you could connect your gaming PC and say an Xbone then have one out going to your capture card then the other to the monitor right?

Then what do I do for getting sound over to the Streaming PC?

The products I see used are a Scarlett 2i2 interface that's like $150 and then a behringer sound board that's between $50-$150.

It would seem to me that there would not be a need for the interface if I bought the soundboard but I am totally not sure.

I haven't seen any guides for this on r/twitch

I just recently researched this because I wanted to get a clip-on condenser mic for my trombone practicing. XLR condenser mics require something called phantom power, defined by Wikipedia as "DC electric power transmitted through microphone cables to operate microphones that contain active electronic circuitry."

The cheapest method to supply this is via the Blue Microphones preamp for $43. LINK

It may be cheaper to just get a Blue Yeti or Snowball. I can attest to the quality of the Yeti. I've had it for years, and ultimately I decided to just mount the Yeti on a camera tripod to record my practices. Works very well.

I have no first-hand experience with it, but this sounds like a way to do it. Although, doesn't xbox have a Twitch app? Not sure how well it works.

The capture card becomes your playback device on the streaming PC. I'm guessing you plug in your mic to the streaming PC and tell windows to "listen to this device" using the capture card for playback.

EDIT: Found a twitch instructional guide for a 2-PC streaming setup. LINK
It echos my suggestion about listening to the microphone using the capture card as playback. It then suggests using software called "audio repeater" to repeat your gaming PC or xbox's audio using the capture card as playback. Seems like all you'd need in terms of hardware is a PC, capture card, and microphone (USB condenser, or condenser XLR with the pre-amp I linked).

Intel sure is getting a lot of hate for Skylake overall, and all of the articles are littered with hope that AMD can capitalize with Zen.

Big opportunity for AMD is out there for them to grab.

So this morning I woke up to see that my mailbox, as well as every mailbox on my street and adjacent, and the stop sign and speed limit signs, had been tagged with a bit of gold spraypaint. I figured some kids decided to be assholes the night before.

It cleaned off easily with a rag and lacquer thinner. But, while I was cleaning it off this afternoon, sweaty and disheveled, a news van pulls up in front of my house and wants to interview me about the vandalism. Slow news day. Just wanting to get sound bites out of me about how angry I am and how inconvenient this all is. I frankly wasn't that mad since it wiped off like nothing was there, and my mailbox now looks cleaner than it did before.

A couple hours later, a guy and two kids showed up at my door. It was the vandals and their father there to apologize. Both kids were school-aged. One looked about 8 or 9, and the other 11 or 12. Their dad made the kids stop at every house to apologize, offer compensation for damages, and clean the mailboxes.

Kudos to the dad for dragging them to every house, though.

The news lady got a shot of the chemicals I'd brought out there to clean with -- Lacquer thinner and aircraft remover. Being the nitpicking nerd I am, I clarified that people should use something less caustic, but this was all I had. Aircraft stripper will eat your skin.

I could probably figure it out in a few minutes. You're in BR?

Before we meet up, maybe you can post some pics of the interior so I can see the connections.

Can't see anything that jumps out at me from the pic. Question: Do the fans move slightly/twitch when you press the power button?
