Plan on getting into it this week.

Noob question: what are he most important stats for a generic sword build? The stats are a bit confusing to me.

I went Dual Swords.

Skill Based
Light armor to stay at agility A
Using the bat guardian for agility damage A

Pretty strong but I am still only lv 48 or so.

One thing they need to patch out is the sloth spell working on bosses. If you want to make them easy get this spell.

not even close to the same and you know that, totes. every district of Yharnam and the outlying areas brought totally different things to the table. the beauty of central yharnam at dusk, the creepy upper cathedral ward, the quarantined Old Yharnam, the tragic hospital and fishing hamlet, both nightmare areas. every area had different enemies, different atmospheres, different feels. the different enemies and NPCs in each area really told a story, in addition to the item descriptions. there's just not much information to pull from Nioh. every level feels like the same feudal japanese castle and cave assets are reused, and it doesnt help that the levels are selected from a map and only given a paragraph to draw details from. the storytelling and worldbuilding are just not there for me i know i sound picky, but i really think im just spoiled by the Soulsborne games. those mfrs can build a world

It was more just a joke about how bloodborne has no color, either. By design, of course.

Keep in mind I play these games blind unless I need help with a build or get really stuck.

Same, only outside assistance I've used so far was a guide to find the last kodama on that silver mine map

I could not tell you shite about either. Doesn't bother me. I normally am into stories but for these type of games it is the gameplay and character building I enjoy. Loving the options you have with this game.

Well you are just good at this game I guess. I have only beat one boss without dying and that is because he was easy to kite. Maybe I had an overpowered character in BB or something but I had a much easier time with just about all the bosses there except for the one side boss near the end.

Maybe it just jives with me or I've just played too much SoulsBorne. I'm definitely not OP (doing level 55-60 missions with Level 41 sword ) Like I said, dodge towards every boss for easy win.

Guess we'll find out after Jombie goes through, considering he's the master. Wait till that snow boss though, the magic attacks are nasty

Pretty much how most bosses are in BB and souls. I don't even know how that worked for you on at least 3 I have fought already and I am only just pass the huge water monster thing.

I am not even trying to say this game is super hard or anything. Like we said earlier the levels are pretty easy compared to souls/BB designs. Although I did roll into water death like 6 times last night on that water level. (Mainly on the subquest) Just saying the bosses are not easy mode at all, especially not when you compare them to BB.

Obviously opinions will differ and I am sure Zombie will be okay.

He's level one and he's beating the game with no armor and without rolling or dodging.

I watch him and I'm like "oh I can do that." And then I fall in some water with absolutely no one around me and realize I'm not about that life.

ETA: Spent the first half of the fight trying to learn how to do the ki thing... it was pretty failtastic - but got it by the end

It's better to switch stances when doing the ki pulses.

Well, you shouldn't. Stance switching swings your weapon in a way that can also deal damage.

It is not necessary at all. Keeping myself in medium stance with dual swords is way more important. High stance attacks are awful and low stance is too weak. Sure I Guess I could switch back but it just makes it too much input. (I only use low for spiders/crawling zombie things.

For dual swords, I start in medium, do one combo in high stance, and then switch back to medium for either another combo or blocking.

High stance with dual swords is great for dealing single target + higher chance of stunning.
