starting to wear on me a bit. every level is the same. dark village, dark caves/mines, dark ruins, etc. need some color and variety. dont need blighttown for every level i also loathe the loot and blacksmith systems
biggest disappointments are the bosses and side missions though. the bosses are too easy and have small movesets (shocking coming from Team Ninja, given the incredible bosses from the Ninja Gaidens (not counting 3 of course)). umi-bozu is a horribly designed boss, especially in twilight. Impervious to everything except fire? check. Massive health pool? check. instant kill ability? check. fricking sucks to spend 20 mins fighting him and then he slaps you and smokes you with his insta-kill beam. just lazy
side missions are all the same. asian tells you he lost his sword, you get dropped into a section of a level you already played, make it to an enemy/enemies with the sword and kill them, guy lets you keep the sword.
veneer is wearing off still fun though, ill prob get the plat unless there are absurd trophies

Crazy expensive once you get higher level. But I am sure there is a gold grind I don't know about.

I don't like that either but its pretty typical. BB was way darker.

You must have just got too good at games .....
These bosses are more brutal than BB and Souls for me.

I feel like the 1on1 fights are easier. But I think some of the bosses are pretty unforgiving. Also helps that it's quite easy to get overgeared/overleveled by doing all of the side missions.
If anyone needs assistance, I don't mind. I'm on the third mission of the third region.
Also, this game assumes you know a ton about the Warring States Period. If I hadn't played Samurai Warriors, TW, and stuff, I'd be so lost.

Yea I am sure there is mechanics I can abuse but I have stayed away from guides and reddit so I don't know much.

There's a ton of good info in the encylopedia section or whatever. I would read through that if you want. Here's some other things to pour over. Game is set in 1600, which is right at the end of the Sengoku period (Warring States) ( LINK). The events of the game are essentially leading up to this battle LINK, which sets up the Tokugawa Shogunate. The short of it is that when Oda Nobunaga died, his supporting nobles didn't agree on a successor. The two most powerful were fighting for control over what he conquered (which was 90% of Japan).

The boss on the ship gave me issues until I realized you can't dodge the rock throw point blank without a double jump and that takes took much stamina. Once I put distance the fight is a cakewalk. Unless he grabs you his moveset is really easy to dodge.

But what I am saying is you both have to complete the level. Meaning the only time you can team up with a friend is if you are just grinding. So you can't really help.
I may have been doing it wrong but totes and I tried to do a level I had not started but was unlocked, that he had already completed. Still did not let us do it. Only missions we both had beat fully.
