The next installment of the Fire Emblem series (main series) will be coming to the Switch... the first main series Fire Emblem on a console since Radiant Dawn in '08 ... yup, I will 100% be getting the Switch by next year
(this was just announced on the Fire Emblem Stream) -- Fire Emblem Warriors was just announced Fall 2017 and Fire Emblem Embers - a remake of Fire Emblem Gaiden is getting released on 3ds

Saw the highlights. Man they are going all in on Fire Emblem.
Why can't we get this kind of spread with DK or Metroid or Animal Crossing?
I mean let's celebrate
But they have a ton of unique properties that they could do this with.

Turn based strategy game with unique mechanics. Permadeath gameplay might be what most people know the series for though.

I'm disappointed with the lack of apps. Having a portable gaming device that can run major titles and serve as an all in one multimedia vendor is what intrigued me the most.

Probably my favorite game series bar none
They are a tactical military game - turn-based RPG with Rock-Paper-Scissors gameplay (sword beats axe, axe beats polearm, polearm beats sword) with perma death, really well thought out stories, and really fun gameplay.
It's hard to explain because there aren't a lot of games on the market like it, like at all

I tried to play the Fire Emblem game included with the 3DS Ambassador downloads and it was just awful all around. It's weaboo anime crap. If you aren't japanese(I'm not), if you don't like anime(I dont), and if you don't think that everything japanese is superior and wish you could live in japan and marry a japanese woman(I dont) then the series is not for you.

He also takes out the entire - if you like games that make you think from a tactical standpoint, it's amazing
Xcom, Advance Wars, Total War Series, valkyria chronicles
If you like any of these, or ever felt like you would love it - then the game is for you. FE does it better than anyone else

FE is cool and all but I enjoy Xenoblade far more when it comes to Nintendo JRPG's. The sequel to chronicles means I'm for sure picking up the Switch, glad they moved away from X.
Also it's been forever since the last advance wars, does Nintendo still even acknowledge it?

Pretty much all of this applies to me and I think they are fantastic games.

Did you play Awakening or Fates?
The style was made to be a lot more like mainstream anime with Awakening. It's a departure from the more serious tone of the series, but it also lead to far larger sales than anything the series has seen before.
Gameplay is solid in all of them (although, it's probably the least consistent in the newest ones) and is worth playing if you like strategy games.

see I wouldn't put FE into the "JRPG" category, I put it in the tactical RPG category.
Xenoblade belongs with FF, Bravely Default, etc. and FE belongs with games like Advance wars
As for Intelligent Systems doing another Advance Wars... probably not with the popularity of FE these days. I feel like Advance Wars was kinda their answer to FE not being popular in the states - but that has changed recently, so I just don't see a future where Advance Wars happens unless things change a lot from how they are now.
