You are never going to need 25 commits. It is not a full roster so you will be cutting more and more guys every year.

I ID'd 15 players and within the first 3 weeks widdled it down to 12 and spent all my time on those guys. Landed 10 then picked up 8 more excellent recruits in the offseason.

You really need to minimize your recruits and spend 40-60 minutes on each. 20-30 minutes will put you behind the power curve.

Identify your needs and cocentrate on that during the season.

With LSU 1st season I had 2 kickers, 2 punters, 4 MLB's in my initial 15. then removed 1 each of the K/P's and 1 of the MLB's.

The rest I populated with guys who had me high in their rankings and that I thought I would need depth in(lineman) or might lose players such as Peterson.

Keep your recruiting to in-state and neighboring states. I do not even bother with anyone who doesn't have Auburn in their top 4 or 5 schools. I have found that promising players helps and specifically recruiting against the schools that are battling for him.

Starting w/ 20 guys this year (in my 2nd season now) is definitely helping me out. Last year I started with a full board, and consequently spent little time on everyone early. I only ended up getting 3 guys during the year, and ended up w/ only 9 total, despite starting out with at least half of my 35 listing me as their 1st choice. This season, with 20, I'm able to spend more time calling everyone, giving everyone a half hour initially. Also, this year I offered earlier, made promises earlier, and scheduled visits ASAP. I'm also trying to stay aware of the points lag between school choices, and recruiting against the other schools accordingly. These changes seem to be working out well so far...halfway thru the season, and I've landed 8 guys, already taken care of most of my needs, and my remaining 12 are all keeping their interest up. Who knows how the rest will play out, but it's def. looking better than the last season. I'm recruiting on All-American level, btw.

You've just won the NC and what kind of recruiting class would you expect to get?? Top 5, 10, 25, try 71, below DUKE!! WTF I thought this was supposed to be realistic? Oh and it rains EVERYTIME I play in Tiger Stadium!!

they make this game alot harder recruiting wise which i think is good

Go after mostly pipeline guys unless you are leading, and start the season with only 12 to 15 guys on your board. This will give you a great chance of landing at least 10 of these guys. Start replacing these guys as they commit with decent players that haven't received a lot of interest, but fill your needs. Always look at the prospects actual skills, don't just look at stars. I usually search prospects that have me in the top 10 by position, look at their skills, and then pick a guy I shouldn't have too much problem getting that will fit my scheme. You should be able to get about five more commitments before offseason. In offseason go after some more studs that just got added, and you should be able to land another 5 or so. Works for me...good luck.

exactly...never recruit more than about 12 at a time and you'll get at least 10 of the 12

Also, be careful doing recruiting from the dynasty website (for online dynasties). There are some glitches and it caused me to lose almost two hours of time in one week.

I agree with focusing on a smaller number of players that fit your position needs and also come from a pipeline state or have you in their Top 5 initially. As you sign players earlier in the season then you can expand to recruiting other players that aren't heavily recruited by other schools.

Someone recently told me that the EA 11 Dynasty feature is irremediably flawed because the AI does not properly recruit for its programs? So, for example, five years into the Dynasty, a rival program will have thirteen left tackles on its roster and no back-up QB.

Is that true?

I don't particularly care because I only buy the game to play online ranked games, but it seems like a major gaffe if the reports are accurate.

thats funny if true

I know in ncaa 09 there were times when teams would have similar situations but usually not to that extreme.

TCU is legit in recruiting...IDK why.

I usually only put 10-15 guys on my board, and generally on the low end of that. It gives you max time with every guy every week. I also will recruit a SLIGHTLY lower rated player if he is in a pipeline. Try going for guys that have you top 5 to start out, that can help as well.

I'm in my 4th or 5th week and I have 4 hard commits: three 4* and one 5*. I have several guys on the cusp of committing.

I put about 20-25 guys on my board. All have me as a top 3 school, with the only exceptions being players at a need position.

Then I break them into groups. Group 1 is around 5 players that I need or a stud I really want and has me ranked high. These are the key targets and they get an hour each.

Group 2 is another 5 players or so. These are generally backup choices for need positions or other studs I might want. They get 30 minutes each.

Group 3 becomes the rest of the players and I rank them in order of how much I like them. They get 20-30 minutes each, depending on the situation. Most in this group don't get contacted until players in the top groups sign with me or someone else. By the middle of the season, the top 2 groups are mostly committed somewhere and this group starts getting closer to an hour each week. This helps me make up a lot of ground and I get a lot of them.

If I'm doing well with the commits, I may go back to the pool and look for good players that haven't received much attention. There's also a few more to be had in the offseason.

I've been able to sign 20-25 players in the first 3 years at LSU and bring in the top class twice. The last year I pulled 13 five stars, so it's time to bump up the difficulty from the default. I think I'm going to switch to a one star team and see how that works.

First thing I do is Prospect search any position w 40's under 4.42 and then WR search with 40's under 4.5 and over 6'4". After that I add by needs and then fill some spots with Top 150 guys that i am first or second. Only end up w about 20-25 on my board.

I thought the difficulty of recruiting could be set in Game Settings

I have players from all over:

A few from Cali, Maryland, Louisiana, Texas, Florida, etc..

The key is spending 50-60 minutes on the players. You can't spend 30 or less and expect the players to keep you in their top 3.

My first season I have:

2 RBs, 1 QB, 2 Tackles, 1 Guards, 2 Punters, 2 OLB, 2 WRs, 2 ATH, 2 DTs and 1 DE.

Still looking for a couple of MLBs, who I should get very shortly, one or two DBs and a PK.
