I know you're talking about console controllers. But I'm throwing in a horrible one for the PC.

Cousin did. I put it on once and I'm still furiously scrubbing off the shame.

Not Nintendo.
However, my favorite non-standard controller was this (which was made by Nintendo).

Crap, what did we use that for? I'm guessing any game. Weren't really any fighters on that system, at least none that I remember.

NES Max was a good one too for turbo and more precise d-pad (once you got used to it). I still use mine:
We also had the "Satellite" at one point, which allowed wireless (sort of) and turbo in one. The receiver went into the console and you could just plug your controller into the big box anywhere in the room. It worked well. Even though it was sort of uncharted waters, Nintendo usually did well with their added peripherals.
The TG16 (in the OP) had built-in turbo function on the standard controller, with three settings

Yea, we have nostalgic love for the n64, but that controller is god awful.

We used to use that nes turbo max for Roger rabbit. It was clutch in the final boss fight.

Crap, what did we use that for?
I especially liked that you could adjust the speed of the turbo with the knobs above the buttons, since you didn't always want maximum button repetition depending on the game.
quote:My friend had one of those and swore by it but I could never get used to the d-pad. It was comfortable to hold, though.

Like a boss fight in Mega Man, where you constantly have to jump around, slide, change direction. It's really great for that. I generally have problems with ducking in time, I can't get to down on the D-Pad fast enough for later levels in a lot of games. The Max helps with that a lot.

What do yall think of the wireless Gamecube controller? I thought it was great, but I know some hardcore Smashers who refuse to use it. I've never noticed any input lag at all.

The Xbone controller is comfortable but it just feels cheap and plasticy.
The best is the 360 and the PS4 is not far behind.

It is funny how outside of fighting games (and maybe driving games) most people don't buy non-standard controllers for their consoles any more.

People who rank GC as the worst, can you say why?
I seriously can't think of any reasons. And I can think of reasons to shite on the NES controller, and that's my GOAT personal fav console evarrr
