But for purposes of a small restaurant with 11 taps, all I ask is for a few local craft taps.
Kind of like burgersmith? That place has a good idea. All local taps and crap in bottles for everyone else.

Burger smith ain't local

No, but if I'm going out for dinner and I know place A has a few local beers on tap and place B doesn't, it might help me choose place A. Assuming the food is comparable.
and if by college drive, they will likely not be able to compete with the bulldog on either a food or beer level
more i think about it, the more i question the location choice

How much of the BMC crowd drinks draft over bottles anyway ? With the exception of college most BMC people I know prefer bottles.

Yep, FIL always picks bottles over draft. I have no idea why.
Burgersmith isn't local?

Yeah I'm sure businesses wish this culture would change, considering they make more money off of draft.

All of their taps are local beers.

Maybe... depends on the sandwiches. Nothing wrong with a good sandwich for dinner.
As far as the Bulldog goes, it wouldn't be hard to get the food on the same level, and if it's non-smoking then that's another huge point in their favor. I wouldn't expect some sandwich place with 11 taps to get the Stone Double Bastard on tap, but as long s they have some that I enjoy (Canebrake, Hopitoulas, etc...) then that will work to have a couple over dinner.
Oscar's is a good example, decent pizza, a few local taps to keep someone like me happy.

Yeah I know. I was confused as to why I was being called out about that.

Honestly, IF (big if) the food is on par with those two, a decent amount. None are really all that special aside from the occasional special release at Bulldog. Also the beer prices come into consideration.
I'd go to Red Zeppelin over Schlitz and Giggles anyway. That's probably this place's closest real competition in the area.

How big are Oscar's $5 happy hour pizzas? Never been but I just opened their menu and saw that; $5 pizzas and $2 draft is tough to beat.

maybe he's setting himself up for failure just so a year from now he can pull back the doors, bust open the books and make a call for help..... to Bar Rescue.

Their hook had better be good sandwiches... or you're probably right.

Not sure... I've actually never been for Happy hour... I think they have a pretty sweet deal on Thursday too. Cheap wings and pints.
