My first experience with boudin was not a good one. I was anxious on my first visit to Louisiana to see what all the hype was about. I was taken to Tony's in Baton Rouge. The casing was chewy and inedible, sort of like silverskin on meat.

That's how the casing is supposed to be. You should be able to draw the boudin out of the casing without it breaking.

Well no wonder. What state has this edible casing?

Casing: Dry and extremely breakable. This makes for an excellent vessel to contain the filling.

Casing: The casing on this loosely packed link is thin and breaks easily. It’s fairly pliable.

Here you go idiot. Go read reviews of the top rated boudin places.

Ftr, I eat any and all casing that breaks with the bite.

TBS, I don't know whether your pants are getting too tight, or, your affinity for frozen boudin and where you put it to warm it up has finally sent you over the edge?

How's life treating you man, has it been kicking and stomping your butt lately?
Lay off the frozen boudin and try eating mustard or collard greens a few times a week.

Well there's your problem. Eating boudin east of the basin is not recommended.
And you are supposed to eat the casing

Why do you insist on being such a massive douchebag?

Have had many of those. The casings are rubbery and inedible, which is expected since you're not supposed to eat it

Good boudin has a casing that is crisp and snaps when you bite into it whether it is grilled or not.

This.

If your boudin casing is rubbery or slimy, you need to get a new boudin provider.

People that push the contents out of the casing, leaving a used boudin condom, are disgusting.

Look, all I'm saying is, I buy boudin all over La central and south. I have never once encountered this magical casing unless it's been grilled.

You said it does not exist. Other posters are saying it does and reviews on the boudin link site say it does. Why can't you just admit you are wrong?

The Best Stop has great boudin, but the casing is not to be eaten. It is the definition of bite and pull.

Because they are? Give me one place. I'll go there next time I'm on the road. I'll try it.
