Never have myself. I always thought that was more of a brandy sniffer. But I sure wouldn't turn one down 
Edit: After quite a few Abita Spring IPA's, drinking an Old Scout Smooth Ambler Rye 7 y/o. Still think this is damn good juice for the price.

I'm not a big fan of drinking whiskey out of brandy snifter. I've even been moving away from my glencairns. It just opens up and becomes more accessible to me out of a rocks/old fashioned glass. Just my preference at this point.

EHT is best rye to have ever crossed my lips. Baby saz is good but not better. Some of the upper end Willets are pretty good also. EHT is no. 1 on my list snd it will be in my cabinet as long as it's available.
