NOLA Native here also claiming Lake Charles own Darrell's Special is a Tier 1 po-boy.

Russell's Short-Stop in Metairie's Roast Beef po-boy ain't nuttin' to F with either.

A good smoked sausage po-boy from Guy's will also knock out a hangover in .5 seconds.

The Ray-Ray at Sammy's is insane.

I don't consider this a tradition po-boy, and it's too much to eat at one sitting, but it is VERY good (and the 2nd half tastes just as good, if not better, coming out of the oven at home the next day).

Surf and Turf from Parkway is the Holy Grail.

The GOAT.

The ultimate measuring stick for any sandwich calling itself "superior".

There is no equal, just many imitators.

1. The perfect roast beef
2. The perfect barbecue shrimp
3. The perfect oyster
4. The perfect shrimp
5. The perfect hot sausage

If less than perfect, a particular po-boy might drop below the perfect po-boy of a lower rank.

My favorite is Bear's on the Northshore. I haven't had every RB poboy out there, but out of what I've had, Bear's is terrific.
