Table, feels more like a shallow attempt at being trendy.
I dont disagree. Just showing how it isnt worse than any of these other new restaurant names

Hell, a very popular restaurant in Nola is called Tableau

It's in a theater.

Also, not sure how popular it is. They certainly benefit from being under the Brennan's umbrella.

Ok? It is still called "Picture" My only point is Table is in line with the new style for restaurant names. It is no worse or better than those

That's why it fits to me. According to old Merriam Webster, it fits.

I thought the name was Table, Kitchen and Bar, not just Table. Seems strange to say I'm going to "Table" as a nickname. If it's farm to table, call it "Farmer's Table" or "Fresh Table". Farmer's Table and Bar with a Kitchen.

It's in a building that was founded in 1916. I think a restaurant that is calling attention to it's surroundings using it's native tongue is a little less cliche' then some place in Baton Rouge called Table. Maybe that makes me a BR hater, but I think it's called perspective.

Im not saying it couldnt be better, I am only saying it follows the modern trend and is no different than places like Peche etc based on name

I think that kinda does make you a BR hater So Nola can use a trendy cliche' name based on the "spirit" of the restaurant, but a BR restaurant cant. By the way every restaurant in Nashville follows this trend:

Southern, Husk, Fig, etc etc

nah

Peche already tells me that it is a seafood restaurant

Cotton tells me that the restaurant focuses on southern cuisine

Table tells me that they have tables

So what about Tableau? And you need your restaurants to inform you of the cuisine? So Commanders Palace and Galitoire's is no beuno right?

For the record I am just giving the other side of the argument a fair shake

The Dickie Brennan Restaurant Group initiated a major renovation of the building to operate a Louisiana Creole restaurant, Tableau at Le Petit Théâtre. The restaurant is the perfect dining option for theatre patrons just steps away from their seats. Tableau and the theatre share many spaces, including a newly renovated lobby and elegant New Orleans courtyard. The arrangement allowed Le Petit to undertake major upgrades to the main stage theatre, construct a classroom and community arts resource center, new dressing rooms and tech booth, upgraded ADA seating and new offices.

I don't see how Table, Kitchen and Bar can be compared to Peche which is a name which relates to the type of food served. You're using a poor example with that one. I understand your point on one word names, but one word is easier to remember. I guess Table will be easy, as well.

TK&B doesn't sound trendy. It sounds like a bad effort. It sounds silly and referring to it as "Table" sounds even sillier.

So this is what the board has become ? A bunch of fake arse yelpers talking shite about a place theyve never been because they don't like the name. At least it's entertaining.

Did someone say they hadn't been because of the name? Who said that?

Is this place even open yet or are they still putting that one table in?

still references something unique about the place

nope, didn't say that, just that it tells me something about the place

if they don't make a reference to the type of food, they should at least make a reference to something personal from the owner or a reference to the history of the area or location

But a reference to the idea of bringing "fresh from the farm to THE TABLE" doesnt work? So it needs to deal with the type of cuisine or the location. Got it

just "Table" doesn't tell me that

neither does "Table Kitchen and Bar"

maybe "Table: A Farm to Table Restaurant" or something would be better?

or Rustic Table? I don't know. Table tells me nothing. How do I know its not a modern table? When I hear "table" I don't immediately associate it with a farm

And I dont understand why that is an issue. Commanders tells you nothing either, as well as a 1000 other restaurants. Are we that ADHD now that we need the name to tell us the type of food?
