SIL forgot to buy red beans at the grocery today, so it was Monday without the usual. Had spaghetti and asparagus. Key lime pie and Community Cafe Blend coffee when I got back home.

It's thicker now that it has cooled.

Make a roux with butter and flour

1/2 onion chopped
Chopped garlic (your call as to amount)
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup half & half
1/4 cup Parmesan
Half a roasted chicken
Salt
Pepper
Red pepper flakes
Pre made tortellini

Start with roux, put in onion and garlic and stir until golden

Add liquid, cook to a low boil
Add everything else
Simmer for 15-20 minutes

ETA: judging by the downvotes, you're the only one who finds this appetizing.

Thanks for sharing. I found it interesting. Looks like alfredo, but the idea is interesting in a soup if the consistency is right and I'd probably herb it up a bit and possibly add some mushrooms. Maybe some white wine, sherry or brandy. Not a big chicken fan, but shrimp might do well.

I'm not suggesting it wasn't good. I just like fooling with recipes sometimes and I very rarely have tortellini.

Probably could have added some parsley or something for color.

After seeing the recipe i can see it now. The pics looked like you were making tuna mac or something lol. That recipe looks legit though.

Mushrooms and wine sounds great. It's an easily adjustable recipe. My wife looked up "dinners for two" and found it.
