I was under the impression that it was an Australian Pale Ale. Still an APA, I guess.

As someone with a family member who has vested interest in GR, I may have a skewed opinion but I am loving the Commotion right now and can't wait for this one. Had an ice cold Commotion at Windrush last night and it is truly an amazing beer.

Australians are just Americans who talk funny. Like the Crocodile Hunter or Crocodile Dundee. Probably also Elton John since he wrote Crocodile Rock.

This definitely happens a good bit and I really don't understand why it is necessary to promote the Great Raft. If anything, it rubs people the wrong way and tarnishes the brand. I don't see employees for other breweries taking little a jabs at other local breweries on Facebook or other parts of the internet.

And what's interesting to me is that a lot of the knocks on Parish have been related to consistency. Yet, there is a huge color/profile difference with the new batch of Grace & Grit compared to the last batch. Which I'm guessing is in response to people complaining a lot about how malty the last batch was. They obviously made a significant change to recipe, more so than any change in Ghost. And Grace & Grit had already been tweaked before along with Commotion. Not to mention, I heard there were some possible infection issues with Southern Drawl at recent event in Lake Charles. So I really don't understand the consistency jabs.

Ross, let's hear your rebuttal.

I've said it before but local LA beer has drastically improved over the past couple years or less. I think everyone can agree with that. Commotion and envie are beers I'd love to have access to daily. Props to competition that has elevated the beer game.

The color/profile difference with the new batch of G&G is discussed here Blog Post

Commotion made an overhaul on March 25th, 2015 and was discussed as well. Blog Post

Southern Drawl was pulled from the Beer fest in Lake Charles because the beer was old. Something that I wish I could have had more control over, but I wasn't. Harvey(brewer) and I(Brand Manager) cracked open a can a piece before the event and noticed the beer was not presentable. At that time the beer was pulled and we went on about our day. If you heard otherwise, from anyone else,I am sorry for the confusion.

I am so glad that there are beers in our state that are worth having discussions about and I am looking forward to what the future holds for our industry. If you have any questions about future release or anything related to Great Raft feel free to email me.

Good to hear that this is your best yet. Although I wish ya'll would have just said "Sorry, we fricked up the last grace and goat when lsuross accidentally gave us the red ale recipe." No way ya'll meant for that trash to come out the way it did.

And stop playing grab-arse with upland and everything else you're doing and get me some fresh commotion. I've got new batches of envie hitting every other day, and I'm starting to forget about commotion.

Ross,

Gonna be honest here. The constant shade thrown Parish's way by you rubs me the wrong way. When the Envie recipe was re-worked, you said this:

Yet when Grace and Grit gets re-worked, it's the standard "we're trying to make the best beer we can make" line. I don't see Parish employees here needling Great Raft for recipe changes and inconsistency.

Other examples of jabs toward Parish/Envie from you:

It just gets old with the constant unnecessary needling. Focus on your own brand and let it speak for itself. If somebody likes someone else's beer better, so be it. Both breweries are doing great things, and for the better in this state that's needed it for a long time. It doesn't need to be a constant competition.
