#42 hometeam isn't even close to top 10 in Charleston. The best thing they have is wings.
Rodney Scott is good but ot top 10.
Lewis is 10p% legit.

Did Sonny’s bbq make the cut?

This piece of shite list with Big Bob Gibson and Dreamland

Garden and Gun posts pretty pictures but otherwise their content is shite. My wife gets that magazine every month and I often see articles about topics that should be interesting. And they almost always end up being lame, poorly written and generic. This piece of shite list with Big Bob Gibson and Dreamland (at 3rd overall lmfao) is par for their course
Well this list is from Southern Living.
I don’t 100% agree with the list either. I’ve been to 14 places on this list some are too high and some are too low.
Louie Mueller (#4) is the best BBQ I’ve ever had and is a lot better than dreamland (#3)

My daughter goes to Rhodes in Memphis and we ate at Cozy Corner last weekend. BBQ cornish hen was a new one for me. Their wings were the real deal

I've eaten at the Home Team here in G'ville and wasn't overly impressed. Definitely not worth what they charge for it. Then again, most BBQ isn't these days. I've yet to eat Rodney Scott's, but I've eaten at Scott's in Hemingway several times. It is good, whole hog BBQ, but I don't think it deserves the lofty ranking Southern Living gave it.

Congrats on the quality education.
I love Memphis bbq, a lot more places hit than miss up there. Central is probably my favorite but there are some good choices up there.

How about Southern Living?
Ah, my bad. Still the exact same people and publication. But you're right this is Southern Living. G and G is the edgier version that gives their carpetbagging staff more rope.

Any list without Peebles BBQ in good ol' Auburndale FL isn't a real list. Grew up with those that own it. Best I've ever had bar none.

LCs in KC is one of my favorites here but nowhere near the top. Arthur Bryant’s is only on here due to history. Nowhere near as good as Harps, Slaps, Q39 etc

You serious? Missouri gave us Jesse James, Quantrill’s Raiders, the Younger brothers, and you obviously haven’t been to southern MO especially Ozarks where Confederate battle flags fly freely.

When I saw the thread my brain immediately thought "Wright's." I used to have 7 states in my sales territory and I tried so many places but Wright's is the one that stands out ?????

That list is an absolute joke though. Almost like a troll job.
Yep.
ruger35 - you're an informed BBQ guy, as a TX BBQ fan, can you give me five BBQ joints east of the Sabine worthy of a visit?
I'm familiar with John Lweis in Charleston. He's done a commendable job of 'exporting' TX BBQ but there are a dozen joints in Houston alone that rival or exceed his.
Others?

Highest ranked I've ever been to is Dreamland #3 & Lexington BBQ at #7.
Lexington was better than Dreamland.

Gonzo's is definitely my #1 in Louisiana. Koal's in Alexandria is my #2.
Bad Wolf in Ruston is easily the best BBQ in LA

Ate at Kreuz Market in Lockhart two years ago, was absolute trash! Disgusting. I've had B's Cracklin BBQ in Savannah and it was fabulous, sad to hear it closed.

Oh really. Is this like a real restaurant or a food truck thing? I've never heard of it..

I had family in Hutto so we went to Mueller's a good bit. I think Black's was better and they aren't in list.
Thought Franklin would be higher.
Goldee's is my most try place. I'll go out my way next time I'm Dallas to give them a shot.
