...last night and Lükes this morning. Well played sir, well played. Unbelievable food at both. I owe you one.

P.S. My wife said she had an orgasm eating Lükes' eggs benedict.

Horinoya on Poydras. About 5 blocks from the Dome. Extremely good sushi.

Don't know about new places but Kanno is one of the best in the city.

The sushi is second to none and the other Japanese cuisine is beyond reproach.

I can't believe I've only eaten there one time. My office is only a short walk away. I need to take advantage of it.

Never tried Kanno because I've heard some bad reviews to go with the very good. Customer's being completely ignored for "regulars" at the bar, inconsistent ingredient quality (sometimes excellent, sometimes not so much), ect.

"Neighborhood" sushi places can be just as good for the palate as the type that you drive across town for, especially if it is your neighborhood place. But what separates a place like Horinoya is that it always uses top of the line ingredients, and has excellent atmosphere/service.

Yeh...I love Kanno, but Horinoya is on a different level.

It isn't cheap at all. But, to go there every once in a while for really good food is worth it IMO.

$75 for two. Both of us were full and had a drink a piece.

Last time I went in I took the wife and three teenage boys...bill was better than $500 after a 20% tip, no alchohol. Those boys could eat.

That is a shame.

Best place I ever went was in Vancouver. all you can eat for $14 Canadian. At the time that was like $9.

I agree about Horinoya. I have family from Hawaii that have had sushi all over the country (and also Japan) and they say that Horinoya is the best that they've had outside of Japan.
