I'll miss it. Would have been a great spot to drink a beer and watch some ball games.

I just texted you about this

I wonder if the lawsuit over torn jeans cleaned him out

He probably shouldn't have responded to negative reviews on Yelp in the manner in which he did.

Bubble is beginning to burst.

Sucks for Brewer, great guy.

No doubt. The cracks are starting to really show in the restaurant market.

Agree about Brewer. I've never seen a bunch of e-ninnies cause a bigger uproar for some internet sniping.

I heard about Sammich a few weeks ago, and asked if Mike had other plans. Nothing yet, but I did hear a few of his cooks were looking into pop-ups.

We'll see.

Anyone want to guess what other restaurants won't finish out the year?

Lesson learned here is to sand the underside of your tables

I was going to say that NikkiNik's review did him in.

I just hate the stupid name.

Seriously, the restaurant business is such a hard one and even in Nola, many restaurants suffer through slower periods and have to be able to make up for that during the busy times. I hate to see any restaurant not make it or most, anyway. Having partners and investors is not necessarily the answer as they don't want to lose money either. Maybe he and Chef Rob should get together, find some investors and work things out. A combo restaurant of sorts.

A loss of 45,000 in essentially a quarter reveals a ton of internal problems. How this guy is representing the face of Louisiana Seafood on the back of a nacho dish is completely beyond me.

I'll mention it again.

What about Kin in this place? It's not the most adventurous dining neigbhorhood, but it's a nice space. Still no parking..

Yes, it's not all slow times. There are some other issues somewhere.

I found that odd as well. Maybe there wasn't much competition.

The problem with that space is it takes forever to get a liquor license. The neighborhood Association will fight tooth and nail to put very limited liquor in there. Admittedly and fairly, they live in fear of more bars in a residential area.

I like Kin where it is. Would rather see them, if they were to move on, keep something there like a ramen and bun shop.

tried going there before, no where to park in that area. One reason I rarely do anything on Maple.

Sometimes you have to walk a block or two in the city

You really think we're seeing a bubble burst here?

I'm going to go with minor shakeup/resorting. I think we were due for that given 10 years of almost uninterrupted growth. I don't see a full blown "burst", though.
