Brisket sandwich was great. Ribeye poboy was a little bland, but huge. Service wasn't very friendly, but not rude. Pub style seating only, besides a couple of picnic tables outside. (no high chairs) No alcohol, not sure if its coming. Was never a long line, but stayed busy, for 1pm on a weekday.
A little expensive $$$.
Decent experience, I will give them a try in a month or two again.
I also noticed a fresh market coming across the street, and a new restaurant built for live entertainment next door, which I will be starting a thread about.

Went today for lunch. Pulled Pork Sandwich, Fries & Large Sweet Tea was $9.90

Good grub... Was not a ton of meat on the sandwich, and the bun is thick... But very tasty. Will try again, maybe it was lite on accident. Asked the guy at the counter pulled pork or brisket sandwich? He "said people like the pulled pork, i cookem all the time so i dunno." Ha. Nice enough kid... Was busy.

Bunch good ole boys workin in there.

I am very interested a return trip. They were very busy, but food came out very fast

Bossfloss, you from St. Francisville?

I wanted to try the pulled pork earlier this week but they were out of it. Heard the boudin is good too. Maybe a return trip this weekend.

Pork is much easier to cook than brisket. I was hoping this was going to be a real all night smokehouse using only wood for smoke like the smokehouses in Texas. Anyone know how they are smoking?

I've had a few things so far, including the pulled pork and boudin egg rolls, and it's all been good. I've been waiting for this place to open as we desperately needed it(in my opinion anyway). Very excited about the restaurant next door also. The one further down 61 will be opening before too long as well.

It's not a Fresh Market, it is being built by the people that own the Feliciana Supermarket around the corner. Also The Francis is very good, so happy to have a place like this up there. I've had several dishes already, but the smoked wings really stick out; they were delicious!

Right, but it is the Leblanc family that is one of the owners. I think that's why people are assuming it will be called a Fresh Market. Either way it will be welcomed!

Is it maybe because they use Leblanc's Frais Marche in the name sometimes? I think they do anyway...

This is what the new restaurant will look like. Built by the same owners.

So the same owners of the Francis are opening the big restaurant next door? That sure doesnt explain why the guy behind the register at the Francis didnt want to discuss the new building next door. He was really short when I asked about it.

Had lunch there today and was very pleased. Started it off with one original boudin ball (they are huge) and 3 smaller crawfish boudin balls (the crawfish are ground up in the stuffing, which I found to be very pleasant). Pulled pork sandwich with baked french fries and would definitely recommend. Loved the sourdough-type bun that said pulled pork was served on. BBQ sauce was spot on as well. The lady had the same sandwich with some killer baked beans. Very happy with the experience.
