Mi Casa isn't a bad Mexican joint. Good cocktails.
I like the little drive in in Jackson. Can't remember the name.
I eat a burger at Magnolis Cafe often and it's always done good.

They smoke on a Southern Pride with pecan wood. They will soon have their alcohol permit so you can drink a brew while eating bbq.

Went today with the kids. It was 12:30, a little busy, but had to wait about 25 minutes for our food, so the kids were getting a little impatient.
They were also already out of all boudin balls, chicken breasts and wings, which was unfortunate because we wanted to order all of those things.
Ended up getting the brisket sandwich...very good, enough meat to satisfy, but they didn't put tomato/lettuce on it as it states on the menu. Meanwhile, they put pickles on my son's cheeseburger which is supposed to cost extra, and he eats it plain regardless; no big deal. The cheeseburger was huge and seemed to be cool with the boy.
My daughter got the tenders. These things are enormous (about 5X the size of current cane's). 3 of them with a side for a little over 5 bucks is a steal.
I thought the prices were fair; I hope they work on more appropriately estimating the amount of some items they have on hand in the future.

They didnt put lettuce & tomato on my pulled pork, as menu states. They obviously need to edit the menu, or add those things.... I chalked it up to a misprint

Years ago a friend rented a house right in town that was set up well for a romantic weekend getaway - indoor hot tub, etc. We all went up on Friday evening, met at that house, went and dined at the Myrtles then he and his lady friend stayed the weekend while we all came home.
I've never been able to locate any website for that weekend rental and he can't recall how he found out about it or got set up with it. If anyone has any idea what I'm talking about, I'd love to take SO up their for a weekend getaway.
TheFranchise - it sounds like you might be talking about Wisteria, a yellow house built into the bluff right on Ferdinand in the middle of the historic district. White picket fence with the front porch very close to the sidewalk and a beautiful back porch looking down over the sloping backyard? And lower level below the bedrooms houses the kitchen, which walks out onto the back porch?

Wisteria
Yes. That's probably it. Stayed a few time myself. It was totally awesome. I do not think it's a B+B anymore. (not 100% sure about that),

No, it's not. I actually ran Wisteria for a while. It hasn't been a B&B for close to 10 years. Still some great getaways in the area, though. Highly recommend Shadetree.

Oops! I didn't realize initially that my second reply was to someone else. That recommendation for Shadetree above ^^ was for you, since you'd said you could use a weekend getaway in St. F. :) Fun event in August every year (2015 August 22) called Polos and Pearls. Lots of shops stay open late, and many have appetizers and live music. There's a trolley to shuttle people around the Historic District. If it sounds like something you'd like, book early! The B&Bs fill up early for annual events.
For the record, I'm not a business owner or anything. Just someone who loves St. Francisville and West Feliciana! :)

Has the new restaurant and grocery store opened?
Posted on 5/31/15 at 9:57 am to Martini
Restaurant is about 3 months out. Grocery store, don't know?

Not yet on the grocery store, either, but the May 22 Chamber of Commerce newsletter said they were opening soon and were looking for workers.

Looks like 'pork' is misspelled on the menu.

The pyramids were built faster than that grocery store.
