Whatever you buy, test it. Put it in boiling water. I have three and they are all off by a few degrees. I have not found that money=quality in this area.

Just like everyone here recommends the maverick thermometer is an awesome tool that I frequently use.

I bought the Thermowand® from Amazon.

It works well and it's $75 less.

...or ThermoPop, which I picked up for under $30. It works just fine for me as far as instant reads.

I also have the Maverick, which is easily the best money you could spend if you're gonna do any BBQing, grilling or smoking.

What features of the 733 does you use often?

Remote or Instant Read? If you need instant read and don't want to spend a lot of money, ThermoPop. If you don't care and want the best, Thermapen.

I have been pleased with the idevices igrill mini. I now have 3 of them and all sync to my phone.
