It's like an assembly line. The old Chart House was classier. lol

All of the Chart Houses were run well, IMO, not sure what didn't work. Last one I ate at was in Los Gatos and it so reminded me of how well they did in NOLA.

I have to tell you, it was packed (with more than one large table), loud and the operation was like a huge conveyor belt. Friendly, but sort of impersonal service. And while were not exactly "rushed", no time was wasted. The vibe reminded me, in a way, of those big named satellite restaurants they stick in Vegas or maybe Orlando. And there were plenty of tourists in the place.

The food was competent, but nothing special. I'm sure it's fine for some people, but I see no reason to return.

Way to finally get on board. Place has been average for years.

$13 apps
$40 entrees

At this price point I don't think it is snobbish to expect better than average in food and service.

Having been a few times and found the food and service to be an average experience - Muriel's is underwhelming for the money.

That said, a drink in the seance room and a walk to the balcony overlooking the square is always welcome.

For not wanting to overpay for lackluster food?

Used to really like the Chart House. Had great molasses bread and a wonderful grilled redfish. Actually proposed to my 1st wife there. As Teach said, Muriel's is great for a drink and the balcony view. Otherwise, much better options that are less expensive in the FQ.

Uh, posts do count as irrefutable evidence in our new television show, Food Board Court.

I'm going to use bay leaves to day in a red gravy with meat sauce, where they belong, Otis.
