re: 107 murders in NOLA so far, but we're talking about confederate statues - mardigrarita
This is classic "don't look at the real problem, what about that squirrel in the tree up there????" I live in Shreveport, and absolutely LOVE New Orleans, but it makes me sick that NOLA will never have a mayor again who does anything but pander to that part of the electorate who doesn't realize t...

re: LSU golf commit Phillip Barbaree wins US Junior Am - mardigrarita
Do you think the David Toms practice facility is contributing to the number of Shreveport guys that are ranked in the top of the junionr/amateur rankings, or is it just a weird coincidence?
It can't be...according to most of the a=holes on this site, nothing good ever comes out of ...

re: Indy Bowl's new sponsor - mardigrarita
Hopefully this time the city wakes up and passes the 1.25% hotel tax which will help upgrade facilities. Last time is was up for a vote, people saw "tax" and blindly voted against it even though it was only an additional tax on hotel guests. Not citizens of the city.
The "low inf...

re: Many Thanks to the Food and Drink Board - mardigrarita
TigahRag, what's your problem? I enjoyed his weekly rewind...don't understand why you would have such a strong negative reaction to it/him. Attitudes like yours seem to be what's making our society so cold and callous now...why the vitriol? If you don't like him, don't read him, but I don't s...

re: What ever happened to colored toilet paper? - mardigrarita
When I was in high school in the early '70's and we would "roll" people's trees, the color of toilet paper we used was very symbolic! White meant hate, pink meant love...I don't remember what yellow, blue and green symbolized...fun times!!...

re: Good Crawfish in Shreveport? - mardigrarita
The Market is good...I live close by and have had their crawfish several times this year. Crawfish Tyme is not as good as it used to be...the crawfish are often overcooked and over-seasoned. And I LOVE spicy food......

re: Brandon Harris Interview on Tim Fletcher show today. LINK UPDATED - mardigrarita
I live in Shreveport and can't tolerate Fletcher or his show...I don't mind that he is primarily an Arkansas fan, it's that his schtick isn't clever or funny and I don't care to have his family pushed down by throat when I am trying to listen to a sports show. ...

re: Grillades and Grits-With or Without Tomatoes? - mardigrarita
You people are crazy. Preferring grillades without tomatoes is fine. Acting like its not a stable ingredient of 90% of the legit recipes out there is an act of delusion. I think you may not realize what's in your food.
This.... You people are a bunch of food snobs!!!...

Don't know if it's been touched on elsewhere, but did anyone catch what tune Roger was playing on the organ while Peggy was skating? At one point I thought it might be "The Best Things in Life Are Free", but I'm not sure. ...
