I've been reading quite a bit about this new local market.

I don't see it working, but good luck to 'em.

Some interesting products on the shelves....I stopped in last week, one evening after work....but the cash register wasn't working properly w/credit cards. So I left w/o purchasing.

I bought some Benton's bacon there when they were just opened two weeks ago. They were just about finished installing the cooking equipment. Heard their prepared stuff is going to be good.

Bumping this old thread to give a shout-out to what is possibly the best sandwich in town. Seriously on par with the Rachel or the Sam from Stein's. That is the smoked fried chicken sandwich from Simone's.

The grocery store isn't for me. I'm worried they won't last. I originally went for the goat cheese ice cream that I saw on instagram, which was good. The house-made meatballs and sauce were pretty good (freezer section). The scotch egg didn't do anything for me. The Italian sandwich is fantastic (Niman Ranch Jambon, Capocolla, and Spicy Soppressata, Provolone Cheese, Pickled Carrot and Italian Herb Relish, Basil Aioli, Red Wine Vinegar Tomato, Arugula, Wild Flour Ciabatta), the pimento cheese sandwich is fantastic (Pimento Grilled Cheese, Bacon Jam, House Pickles, Wild Flour Sourdough, MultiGrain, or Brioche), but the smoked fried chicken sandwich (Smoked Fried Chicken Thigh, Jalapeño Buttermilk Slaw, Pickled Sweet Peppers, Wild Flour Brioche Bun) is really amazing. Haven't tried any of the others yet. Thought I had the best kept secret in town but now I'm worried about their future. Go try one.
