Been wanting to try this place out, so my wife made reservations for my birthday.

Hopefully the rain will break up enough for us to make the trip.

What is the dress code for Shaya, and what would y'all recommend?

Khakis/jeans and a button down shirt is fine. You could wear a polo if that's your prerogative.

I really like their curried fried cauliflower hummus. Their kibbeh nayah is also really good and a large portion. I haven't had a bad thing there, so I don't think you can go wrong.

lunch or dinner?

You can wear shorts at lunch and not look out place. I've always worn long pants at dinner.

For lunch, I usually get the lamb kabobs, hummus with cauliflower and various small plates. Falafel sandwich is best value.

If going for dinner, get the kibbeh nayyeh as an app, and slow cooked lamb entree. It's amazing.

Very casual, I wouldn't even worry about clothes I do like to at least have a collar though.

Load up on small plates and apps for the first time. Though the wagyu dish and lamb leg are delicious.

Thanks for all the help guys.

It'll be for dinner. If the weather lets up soon, I'll end up leaving work early and maybe make a stop at peche for lunch.

I've only been once for lunch.

Curried fried cauliflower hummus was great

Lamb ragu hummus

Lutenitsa

Shakshouka

Everything was delicious. The pita bread hot out of the oven is so good.

Enjoy your time there!

I'd say business casual.

One tip: You will really, really want to eat as much of the pita as you can. It is absolutely delicious as hell. Don't do this. You will be too full to eat anything else.

Suggestions

Dips:

Do NOT miss the Ikra. TRUST me. Get that.

Slow Cooked Egg Hummus is underrated.

So you mentioned the wagyu dish a few weeks ago. I went to Shaya a few weeks ago for dinner and while I had to get the lamb again, my girlfriend got the steak, and it was tasty but I found it to be a very small portion. I'm glad I stuck with the lamb.

While I'm doing show and tell, here's the kibbeh nayyeh (raw kibbeh).

Cauliflower hummus is fantastic. Lutenitsa and sashouska were nice. Most of the times I have gone I just did a bunch of small plates without an entree. Everything is good

This lamb dish is incredible. The roasted chicken is also very good.

Someone has to get that lamb.
