I am on a quest to season this massive 20" skillet. It does not fit in my oven or BBQ grill.

I did round one on the stove seen in the picture, but it smoked the shite out of the house.

I am now moving it to my crawfish burner (after it cools).

Any other suggestions?

More pics to come as I progress.

(BTW, I bought it from Murray's in St Amant, it was only $69)

After round one and two

After round three using bacon

After round 4

After round 5. Starting to get color on the sides.

What -and more importantly how- are you going to cook with that thing

Crawfish burner?

I bet you could get it ridiculously hot and sear a nice steak or twenty.

My wife has several things she fries and with her 12" pan, it takes several times to fry them instead of frying all at once. Plus, we are in a cooking contest next week and need it

Do you have a gas grill? If so , would it fit in that grill?

Does not fit.

I just finished round two on my crawfish burner, now letting it cool.

You can get some doormat flounders whole in that thing.

Crawfish burner is your best bet.

Head to costco, buy 250 eggs and bacon.
Head to nearest homeless shelter with burner and skillet.
Cook eggs and bacon for homeless.
?????
Seasoned cast iron and you feel pretty good about yourself.

I have a large one as well (18" diameter?) and it is perfect for searing large steaks, and cooking fajitas for 8-10 people.

This will work. Just start using it and it will season properly. Cook a bunch of bone in, fatty, cheap pork chops and invite me over. I'll suck the marrow out of the pork bone.

Remember if you use it for fish it will typically keep a fish flavor. I have two that I use only for frying fish and such in.
