plus a sheet of coupons that we will use (a free pizza, a free rotisserie chicken, a free 72 ct pack of AA batteries, others)
I used a coupon for $6.00 of fresh meat (not sure of the wording) and somehow left the rest of my sheet of coupons behind. I wanted to get the free rotisserie chicken at some point!

They have a brand there (not Kirklands but it is a store brand for them) that is grain free. My dog who has itchy skin when he eats grain-filled food does great on it.
My heeler has a similar problem, will look for this tonight.

You know, I came to the realization of how sad it is that "some" of my grocery buying loyalty can be had by giving me a free chicken and some batteries
Then I
I'll still frequent my usual local specialty meat spots though. So, all is not lost.

How did y'all get free stuff when you signed up? I paid my dues, and all I got was a membership card.

Did you get the Executive membership or the Gold? Maybe that's the difference?
Posted on 3/22/16 at 11:12 pm to Spock's Eyebrow
I signed up through living social.

Maybe that's it. I bought it direct from the Costco website.

You have to get the executive membership to get the gift card, coupons and cash back.

The basic Gold membership is $55.
The Executive membership is $110
With the difference being $55, it was told to me that Costco wants the upgrade to pay for itself through the $20 gift card, coupons, and 2% cash back program.
With the 2% cash back program, the more you spend, the more you get back (awarded annually) up to a max of $750. It was also told to me that if your cash back amount is less than $55, Costco makes up the difference and sends you a check for $55.
Maybe some of the more seasoned Costco customers on here can shed light on how it has worked for them.

A friend said the savings on her OTC allergy meds more than paid for her Executive membership.
I tried Kirkland's Black Forest ham last night. It did not taste very hammy. Whoever said the premium deli meats were lacking, so far you are correct. There is pastrami in the fridge I have yet to taste.

Noted. Stupid me went to Albertsons last night and bought Zyrtec 10 mg 40 ct for $26-ish dollars, pre-tax. Never thought to check Costco.

Agree that the Kirklands cold cuts are subpar, but the Columbus branded stuff is better. Salame, etc. And I'm partial to the imported Italian rosemary thinly sliced ham (can't recall the brand, but it is sold in two side by side plastic blister packs).

Oops. I would guess you could have bought 10x the amount for half the price at Costco.

This. I picked up some Columbus turkey last week. Pretty solid. Reminds me of boar's head.

The Kirkland brand is half that for 365 ct. LINK
The Claritin is even cheaper.
I buy Kirkland Ibuprofen - 1000 tablets for $10.49 (@ 1 penny/pill). They sell Advil (360 tablets) for $18.99 (5.2 cents/pill), which is still cheaper than the drugstore.

Yeah, we paid $10 for a 5 oz. bottle of children's Claritin at target. Costco sell a two pack of 6 oz. bottles for $15.
