SAME. I dont want any babies anyway.

be careful guys. Ya'll know I am huge on IF, but you don't want to mess up your hormones either where it hurts you in the long run.

Evil, Martin Berkham suggest starting at 14 hours for females, maybe start their and monitor weight loss and hormones. Then if you plateau, you can lengthen the time.

BTW both of you realize IF doesn't allow you to burn fat, its just an eating strategy right? Any weight loss is just from caloric restriction not the time restriction.

Also all of this is why weighing and measure and tracking is so important. Learning serving sizes and tracking etc is the key to learn term success.

Weigh in day this morning with my dietitian. Another 5 pounds lost. Down to 265.. a total of 10 down since I started going to a dietitian 2.5 months ago, and 17 since the start of the year. It's slow progress, but it's progress. My goal is to lose 40lb this year and I'm almost halfway

thats awesome man.

How would y’all track a pound of brisket from LA 23 or Blue oak?

if you don't have the sauce on it, just do usda value for 12oz of raw brisket usda values. Will get it close. then whatever sauce you have, guess on it.

You wanna do Wednesday-Friday? I’m going to Austin next weekend for a little getaway. Trying to do the fast before then.

Or we could just start tomorrow

Yes :) it helps control my appetite, so I’m taking in fewer calories than normal. I don’t go nuts during my 8 hour window.

I’m doing 16:8 now. I’m keeping an eye on how I feel to make sure I don’t throw things out of whack. I went too hard with IF the first time I tried it a couple years ago, and felt pretty cruddy after several months. On the plus side, I lost 25 lbs quickly and have kept it off for the most part.

I've been doing 16:8 too, I've been doing the gym from 4:30-6:30, so I'm starting the feeding window at 7ish in the morning, and not eating after 3, so that I know my sugar is not spiked during workouts, which should hopefully make them more effective correct? I'm eating at a 1500 limit, I know thats a pretty decent deficit for my weight, most days I come pretty close to that, and I know I'm firmly in ketosis. not losing as fast as last time, which is frustrating, but I'm trying to not let the mental game frick my attitude up. haha

I havent been following much lately on MFP on what you are doing but its working. if you start plateauing email me and I will lay out the diet and some of the training for you.

You guys follow one another there? sometimes I feel like my aversion to MFP may be that I dont talk to anyone about it, theres nothing to keep me accountable or motivated to keep doing it.My friends are lazy fricks. I need a competitive tracking app I think

Well for fat loss sugar doesn't matter. Only daily protein and weekly calories and i day it doesn't matter because in the long run studies show so long as calories and protein are accounted for, the rest doesn't really matter to an extent that will make a difference of the Long haul.

Now if what you are doing makes you feel good fine. Optimally you would carb back load any carbs after your workout while nutrition partitioning is highest. But again in the long run that doesn't even matter really. So if what you are doing is working for you and allowing you to be compliant and consistent, keep doing it. Just make sure you are getting enough protein.

Same here.

I had a looong log streak, about 1.5 years, for a while but missed on vacation once and have never been quite that consistent with logging since.

Sent, Maybe that will help, idk. I felt way more motivated when this thread was really active.
In all honesty, what would stop us from starting this thread on the HF board ourselves? I mean since they dont seem like they're ever going to move it. maybe it would get some traction.

Nothing. I'll try and do it tomorrow and maybe we can get a sticky. But it's been really hard to get stickies over there.

On my annual health kick where I lose a pound a day for about 20 days.

Question.

How do y’all curb those late night snack cravings? It hits me about 9:00 and one night I tried to resist. I think I almost passed out.
I’m like an addict that can’t get his fix.

What’s the secret?

Let me know when you find out. I usually find myself at Kroger getting a pint of Enlightened and a quest bar at that point.

I've been able to shut down those feelings over the last month while eating high fat low carb though.

Chug a bottle of water and see what that does, if you’re still hungry, then you’re legit hungry and you should eat something, just pick something healthy.

Can you try something low calorie? Like pickles or something?

It’s a tough habit to break. Try doing something at that time of night to distract yourself, like taking a bath. Or playing video games. Or whatever you enjoy. Post here frequently so we can encourage you.

So not gonna make that thread tonight. 24 hours into the fast now, about to do last two sets, a little ring work and then quick shower and bed. Need to sleep off the insulin induced hunger.

Thanks for the advice. Also got some from a friend.

I think I will try them both:

Chug water and go to sleep early.
