Mr. Ed's seafood joint moving in there. Both are upgrades from the daiquiri stand that once was there.

Put it this way, when you plug in "New Orleans" on their website and search for locations, they say there's not one within a 100 miles of the city.

The NOLA one closed as well.

I spoke to the Manager a week ago and know what happened.
The one in NOLA, Metairie and Baton Rouge were all owned by the same restaurant group. The NOLA and Metairie locations were losing money (in a really bad way from what she said) and had to be closed. The franchise agreement with Pei Wei required a certain number of locations in a certain geographic area and that agreement didn't allow for the sole profitable location (BTR) to operate alone. So they closed it as well.
FTR, I liked their chow.

Maybe we can get a local joint up in that bitch. I'm tired of these New Orleans restaurants invading our turf. And what's with the two fricking banks and the frinking mattress store blocking the views of the store fronts. Can't see behind that wall of shite.

That mattress store is the ugliest building/strip mall in that neighborhood, hands down.

This makes me sad. I love their Chai tea.
