re: Parish Brewery - Why so much love?

Welllll, in my opinion everything Tin Roof makes besides their ok porter is shite, complete shite. They draw a big crowd because it taste like the other mass distributed shite on the market, ie bud light and friends, and of course their awesome slogan.
Parish on the other hand will go far if Andrew would take some advise on some of the things consumers want. Which I think the more he tries different beers he is wanting to step up his game a little at a time. There are a lot of experimental beers coming out of Parish right now. Ghost is being tweeked to something more west coast style DIPA and barrel aging Grand Reserve is a great idea as long as he gets some decent bourbon barrels.
Canebreak is what it is. I'm sure Andrew would retire it if there wasn't such a demand for it from the same people that love tin roof. Its not a terrible beer, I can drink it but its far from a great beer. I'd be geat to free up more room to make more awesome beers than making shite tons of canebreak to supply people with.
I drink heady and bourbon county every other day cause I can and founders does suck.
Cheers!

Their miller lite clone really put them on the map.

I spend half my year in Texas. I've been drinking it for awhile. Its new here so everyone is drinking it. I like their beers but I'm not pretending like its world class shite
Uh, there's no need to pretend.
KBS, CBS, FBS, the Porter, Backwoods Bastard, and the Imperial Stout are considered world-class by most craft beer enthusiasts. The Centennial IPA gets a lot of love too and is one of my favorites. Double Trouble is a damn good DIPA as well. Ain't nothing "meh" about Founders.

See what happens when everyone gets some KBS?

You never replied, what do you consider a good beer. Give a couple of examples you feel are better than Canebrake and Envie

Founders has an impressive and diverse portfolio of brews. They consistently nail some styles. I don't know that I've had any bad brews (maybe Doom) from Founders but I don't think there's any arguing that they arent world class.
My disappointment with Founders is that their premiere beer (KBS) just isn't that mindblowing to me. It seems to me that they would be capable of much better.

Some fickle beer drinkers in here.
I think most people would disagree with this. Here's beer advocate's rating. Majority of the beers I have tried off of their ratings have been pretty spot on or close. At least it is proof they don't suck.

Why would he get rid of his best seller?
To create better beers and experiment with new ones, you have to have a steady stream of income. Canebrake sells well in all major markets in LA. You can't find the bottles in New Orleans but it's on draft everywhere it seems now.

Yea, sounds like DJ is being selfish and hoping for Andrew to cater to his wants.
As much as i'd love for him to have barrel aged this and hop bomb that, I want him to be successful. The only way that's going to happen is if he continues to put out quality products that sell to the masses.
If he started producing GITM like he does canebrake, he'd be bankrupt in a year or two.
The man obviously knows how to brew beer and run a business. I'll sit back and wait for him to do his thing.

I have not had CBS though

Agree here. Do I drink it because it's near my home? Sure. But if it wasn't quality I wouldn't recommend it to folks.
Parish is much better than tin roof and taste nothing like miller lite. It's arguably the best micro brew in LA.

If you actually thought canebrake tasted just like miller lite (and weren't using hyperbole at all), there was probably a problem or mix up. Canebrake is heavier and much sweeter.
