Birthday coming up next week. Would like to find a solid omakase meal. Anyone have a suggestion?

Not really anywhere in the city with worthwhile Omakase. We really lack good high end sushi.

I doubt you'll find any real omakase in new orleans

Umami in Baton Rouge is the only sushi place I'm aware of in south Louisiana that's offering anything resembling a high end omakase seating like you would find in Japan.

Once Koz finally opens up his spot there will be real Omakase in Nola. He’s stopped his pop ups to focus on that.

But Shogun still does a pretty good job.

I'm not sure if he offered an omakase tasting, but it was my favorite spot for Japanese food.

Good call although not exactly what he’s looking for. Close enough.

I agree and very good too. The new Soji has the potential.
