Please tell me it at least made the best new restaurant list?

Is that one out. I haven't noticed. But, Kin has to be on that list. It is so damn good.

Kin is great.
Domenica is bland and popular with the douche crowd.

Solid list. Clancy's and maybe Brightsen's are the only ones I could argue against, but they are both great.
Shaya will be on it next year, and I assume it will bump one of those two.

Nope! Balise and Brennans (?) did, which I really find strange. I get it that Brennan's did a makeover, but defining them as a new place almost appears to be done to appease an advertiser in the paper. Balise is okay, but not one of the top 4 new restaurants in the city.

Shaya and Kin are my two favorite new places.

Agree with you 1000%, Glass.

I missed the list. Was that it?
Kin belongs in the top 5 NOLA restaurants (besides TP policy). It not making it on the best new list only further invalidates the TP.
Pathetic.

Had a great lunch at Kin on Saturday. They just brought me food. I want to go back right now.

Only had 4 on the list: Balise, Brennans, Shaya and the place that took over from Stella's in the FQ.

Angeline. I know one of the cooks there. I'll go soon. I haven't been to Brown Butter, but it looks like are putting out some good food as well.

I think Kin is a fantastic restaurant but one of the things one has to take into account is the size and scope of it vs. the other places.
As a whole restaurant, I dont think Kin is equal to some of the others on best new or even best. The seating is cramped, they dont have a liquor license, and a few other issues. So while food is most important, and Kin is doing very well there, as a traditional whole restaurant, I think it is lacking a bit.
However, I still love the place.

Get out of here, Brett Anderson!
I understand the ratings are about more then just food. Kin has considerably better and more thoughtful food then those awarded best new restaurants. That more then enough makes up for a lack of seating and liquor license. IMHO.
Maybe a blessing in disguise, I can still slip in for lunch or dinner without worrying.

I can almost guarantee I will be at the counter on Saturday around 1:30.

So, does that mean its only a quasi-restaurant? I understand the limitations of the place, but still, I don't think that should disqualify it from such a list. If anything, it almost indicates how great the food has to be, in order to overcome these negatives (plus, its BYOB, which is not bad!).

Do you just stumble out of Finn's down Jeff Davis after a slate of games and squash the midday hangover at Kin?
Because it sounds fantastic!

Exactly.. Went with VOR last Saturday.

That place is on my radar also. But, that's an odd location for what they are trying to accomplish - the old Buffalo Wild Wings locale in a small strip mall.
