Not much help for fancy dinner, but a great place to eat some tamales and have a beer
Fat Mama's
South Canal Street - I like it lots. Good margarita too "Knock you Naked" There is a story to go with that name. Ask and they will tell you.
One of the stops on the Mississippi Tamale Trail
Edited to add:
You know I looked at the Tamale Trail site and they weren't on it. Don't know why. BUt they still are some of the best I have had and I have eaten at most of the places on the Tamale Trail.
Why?
Loves me some spicey stewed alleycat wrapped in Masa and cornhusk

I grew up in Ntz. Fat Mamas- they have awesome margaritas and tamales. Also checkout Magnolia Grill, Pearl St. Pasta, Cotton Alley and Roux 61 (not in any particular order, but Magnolia is my go to.) Roux 61 is relatively new and has been pretty popular, but I haven't made it there yet. If your looking for bbq checkout Pig Out Inn. If they're open for lunch, Mammy's Cupboard. It's a few minutes outside of town on Hwy 61 south.

Those 2 were our best meals in Natchez. Biscuits & Blues is good if you're into fried catfish & biscuits or from North of the Mason Dixon line. Pig Out Inn is VERY good, Mammy's reminds you of a 1950's road trip but the sandwiches, soup, & pies are well worth the short drive out of town. One place I would avoid like the plague is Planet Thailand-I know, who eats Thai food in Mississippi?-it's worse than you would imagine Thai food in MS could be.

I'd pick Roux 61 all day over anything else. If you go make sure to order the shrimp and alligator sausage cheesecake as a starter.

The donut shop, Roux 61, fat mamas, pearl st, magnolia grill, pig out, all good.

Is that the only restaurant you've eaten at in natchez? I mean the castle and magnolia are really good.

I also forgot to mention if your looking for a good place to eat lunch The Carriage House behind Stanton Hall is really good as well. They have some pretty good fried chicken.
Posted on 5/30/13 at 4:28 pm to missloutiger
I was at the Carriage House last weekend. They've gone to a buffet style. The chicken was still good, and they've added a few things to the menu. I still ate about 10 of those mini biscuits!

That's just on the weekends or on Sunday I think.
